This article explains how to know where a friend is using the location tracking service on Facebook Messenger.
Steps
Step 1. Open Facebook Messenger
The icon looks like a blue speech bubble containing a white lightning bolt. It is located on the main screen or the application screen.
Step 2. Select the friend you want to find
A conversation with the user in question will open.
Step 3. Turn on location services
To use this method, both you and your friend must share the location. Here's how to do it.
- Touch the blue arrow. If you don't see it, tap the square with three dots at the bottom right, then tap "Location".
- Tap the send key (the blue and white arrow) next to "Location" so that it appears in the chat.
Step 4. Tap the map sent by your friend
When a user shares their location, a map will also appear in the chat. Tap it to see the location, marked with a red pin.
- You will also see your location on your friend's map, marked with a blue circle.
- To open your friend's location on Google Maps, tap the right-facing arrow below the map, select "Maps", then tap "Always". At this point you will see a more detailed map and you will have the possibility to obtain directions to reach the place where it is located.
