This wikiHow teaches you how to configure Netflix settings to watch all 4K shows and movies whenever this resolution is available using an iPhone or iPad. You need an Ultra HD Premium subscription to watch 4K content on Netflix.
Steps
Step 1. Make sure your Netflix subscription includes 4K streaming
The standard plan includes HD resolution, but you need an Ultra HD Premium plan to watch 4K content.

Step 2. Open the Netflix application on your device
The icon looks like a red "N" in a black box. You can find it on the Home screen or in an application folder.
Step 3. Click on the More button at the bottom right
The icon " ☰"of this button is located in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen. It will allow you to open the settings menu.
Step 4. Select App Settings on the menu
The Netflix application settings will open on a new page.
Step 5. Select Cellular Data Usage or Mobile data consumption.
This button is located in the section titled "Video Playback" at the top of the menu. A new window will open with various options.
Step 6. Select the highest option available
The options available may vary depending on the country you are in and your mobile operator. You will need to press the button next to "Automatic" to disable it
and change the settings.
- Press on "High" or "Maximum data usage" to select this item.
- Click on "Ok" if the settings are not automatically saved.

Step 8. Select Video Quality or Video quality for download.
This option can be found in the section titled "Downloads" within the application settings. Several options will appear.
Step 9. Select the highest video quality option from those available
Tap the highest option to set the streaming speed to the highest video quality available for all shows and movies.
- When this option is selected, all the videos you watch will load at the highest quality available.
- Click on "Ok" if the changes are not automatically saved.
Step 10. Search and open a 4K program or movie
With the new settings, all videos will automatically load in 4K, if this resolution is available.
