This article shows you how to hide an application in a folder from being visible on the home screen or remove it using a feature called "Restrictions".
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Hide Applications with the "Restrictions" Feature
Step 1. Open the iPhone settings
The icon looks like a gray gear and is located on the main screen.
Step 2. Tap General
It's almost at the top of the page.
Step 3. Scroll down and tap Restrictions
It is located almost in the center of the page.
If you have already activated the "Restrictions" feature, enter the code when prompted. In this case you will not have to activate the restrictions or create a code
Step 4. Tap Enable Restrictions
Step 5. Enter a four-digit code twice
Make sure you can memorize it. If you forget it, you will no longer be able to access the settings associated with the restrictions and you can only fix the problem by initializing the device and setting it up as new
Step 6. Swipe the button next to each application you want to disable
The button will turn white and the app will no longer be available on the main screen.
- This process will not affect the data located within the application. However, you will not be able to access the app itself until you re-enable it within the restrictions.
- This option is not feasible for all applications.
Method 2 of 2: Hide Applications in a Folder
Step 1. Touch and hold an app
Wait until all the apps have started moving.
Step 2. Drag the app you want to hide onto another app
Step 3. Release it
A folder will be created which will contain both applications in question.
Step 4. Drag the application you want to hide to the right edge of the folder:
it will be moved to the second tab.
The open tab is indicated by a highlighted dot at the bottom of the folder
Step 5. Release the application
Step 6. Press the Home button
The application will remain in the second folder tab and will not appear on the main screen.
- In this folder you can also put other applications that you want to hide.
- You can add multiple tabs within the folder to further hide applications. In any case, there must be at least one application on the first few tabs for this method to work.
