Any video game you have downloaded and installed through the Google Play Store can be removed from your Android device through the app for managing all the applications present. If the game you want to delete is one of the programs pre-installed by the device manufacturer or by the telephone operator from which you purchased it on loan for use, it cannot be uninstalled; you can only turn it off. Deactivating an application on Android removes it from the list in the "Applications" panel and prevents it from consuming system resources (RAM memory, CPU, etc.). However, if you have "rooted" the device, then you will be able to completely remove these types of applications as well.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Uninstall Manually Installed Apps
Step 1. Launch the Settings app
Step 2. Select the "Apps", "Applications" or "Application Manager" option
Step 3. Go to the "All" tab
In detail, the procedure to perform this step varies according to the device model and the version of Android installed:
- To switch between tabs, you may need to simply swipe your finger across the screen from right to left.
- In some cases it is only necessary to select "All" from the drop-down menu at the top of the screen.
Step 4. Scroll through the list to find the application you want to uninstall
Step 5. Tap the video game under consideration
Step 6. Press the "Uninstall" button
If the "Uninstall" button is not present, it means that it is most likely a pre-installed application, which therefore cannot be removed unless you "root" the device. In this case, refer to the next sections of the article.
Step 7. Press the "OK" button to proceed with the removal of the selected game
Method 2 of 3: Disable Pre-Installed Applications
Step 1. Launch the Settings app
Step 2. Select the "Apps", "Applications" or "Application Manager" option
Step 3. Go to the "All" tab
The precise procedure for performing this step varies depending on the device model and the version of Android installed:
- To access the "All" or "All apps" tab, you may need to simply slide your finger across the screen from right to left.
- In some cases it is only necessary to select "All" from the drop-down menu at the top of the screen.
Step 4. Scroll through the list that appeared to locate and select the app to disable
Step 5. Press the "Uninstall updates" button (only if present)
Before they can be disabled, some applications require you to uninstall all updates that have been downloaded and installed over time.
Step 6. Press the "Deactivate" button
Step 7. Press the "Yes" button to complete the deactivation procedure of the selected app
At the end, the app in question will no longer be visible in the "Applications" panel and will no longer occupy precious system resources (RAM memory, CPU, etc.). Disabling a video game should have no effect on all other applications on the system.
Method 3 of 3: Uninstall System Applications (Via Root Only)
Step 1. "Root" your Android device
To be able to completely uninstall an application pre-installed on the device by the manufacturer or by the telephone operator, it is necessary to "root" first. This procedure cannot be performed on all Android devices and is for advanced users only. See this article for more details on this.
Step 2. Log in to the Google Play Store
Step 3. Search using the following keywords "system app remover"
Step 4. Select the "System app remover (ROOT)" app, then press the "Install" button
Step 5. Once the download and installation process are complete, press the "Open" button
Step 6. Select the check button next to each application you wish to uninstall
Remember that removing system applications may cause your device to malfunction, so make sure you only remove video games.
Applications that should be kept on the system are labeled "[Should keep]". These are all the basic applications for the normal functioning of Android, whose uninstallation can cause the blocking of some hardware parts or some features of the device
Step 7. Press the "Uninstall" button
It is located at the end of the application list below the advertisement.
Step 8. To confirm your action, press the "Yes" button
All selected apps will be completely removed from the device.
