Don't have an ice cream maker? Are you looking for a way to get your kids to get more calcium without them noticing? Here is a classic "mom's recipe" that solves these problems. Follow the instructions to the letter and you can prepare an "ice cream" with evaporated milk.
Ingrediants
Method 1
- 500 ml of evaporated milk.
- 140 g of sugar.
- 1 bag of powdered preparation for instant drinks (sugar free).
Method 2
- 1 can of evaporated milk.
- 1 pack of gelatin.
- 1 pack of instant drink mix or fruit puree of your choice.
Steps
Method 1 of 2:
Step 1. Pour the evaporated milk into a bowl
Step 2. Chill it almost to freezing
When you see ice crystals around the bowl, it's time to froth the milk.
Step 3. Cool the whisk beater in the freezer while you wait for the milk to become almost frozen
Step 4. Remove both the bowl and the whisks from the freezer
Step 5. Partially whip the milk until it becomes soft and fluffy
Step 6. Add the sugar and soda mix and continue to work the mixture until thick
Step 7. Transfer the mixture to a resealable container
Step 8. Freeze it for 3-4 hours
Step 9. Fill cones or serve ice cream as a simple dessert
Step 10. Finished
Method 2 of 2:
Step 1. Partially freeze the evaporated milk
Step 2. Prepare the soda mix
Add the powder to half of the hot water recommended on the package and mix to dissolve it. Wait for the solution to turn cold.
If you choose fruit puree, use it instead of the preparation, but respect the same quantities
Step 3. Add the gelatin package to the partially frozen milk and mix
Step 4. Add the cold drink
Incorporate the ingredients carefully.
Step 5. Whip the mixture until it is soft and thick
Step 6. Store the "ice cream" in sealable containers for the freezer
Transfer them to the freezer and wait 3-4 hours.
Advice
- You can replace evaporated milk with yogurt, it's less sweet but healthier.
- Poor combinations are also edible, feel free to experiment.
