This article explains how to paginate the text of a Word document in two columns using a computer.
Steps
Step 1. Open the Microsoft Word document you want to edit
Locate the file on your computer, then double-click the corresponding icon to open it within Word.
Step 2. Select all the text you want to paginate in two separate columns
Click on a point at the beginning of the document content, then drag the mouse pointer to the end of the text. The selected area will appear colored blue.
If you want to change the layout of the entire document, you can select all the text simply by pressing the key combination ⌘ Command + A on Mac or Ctrl + A on Windows
Step 3. Click on the Layout tab visible at the top of the program window
It is located above the Word toolbar, which is also displayed at the top of the screen.
Depending on the version of Word you are using, the name of the tab listed might be Page layout.
Step 4. Click on the Columns button located inside the "Layout" tab of the Word ribbon
A drop-down menu will appear listing the available options.
Step 5. Select option Two from the "Columns" drop-down menu
The selected text will be paginated in two separate columns within the page.
If you want, you can select a different option to split the text into multiple columns
Step 6. Change the size of the columns using the "Ruler" bar
This bar is displayed at the top of the document page. You can drag the sliders of the "Ruler" to change the size of the text columns.
