This article explains how to appoint another member of a group as administrator on WhatsApp and how to remove it if the situation requires it. Group administrators have the option to delete a member or appoint another administrator.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Add an Administrator
Step 1. Open WhatsApp
The icon looks like a green dialogue bubble containing a white telephone handset and is located on the home screen (iPhone / iPad) or in the app drawer (Android).
Only a director in office can appoint another
Step 2. Tap Chat
It is located at the top (Android) or bottom (iPhone / iPad) of the screen.
Step 3. Select a group
If you haven't created one yet, read this article.
Step 4. Tap the group name at the top of the conversation
Step 5. Tap and hold the new admin name:
it should appear in the "Attendees" section.
The person you intend to appoint must already be a member of the group. If not, tap "Add Participants", select the user you want to add, then tap "Add" to confirm
Step 6. Tap Make Administrator
This person can from now on add or remove participants from the group. If you wish, you can also appoint other directors.
Method 2 of 2: Remove an Administrator
Step 1. Open WhatsApp

Only current administrators can remove administrator privileges from another member
Step 2. Tap Chat
It is located at the top (Android) or bottom (iPhone / iPad) of the screen.
Step 3. Select the group conversation
If you haven't created one yet, read this article.
Step 4. Tap the group name:
is at the top of the conversation.
Step 5. Tap and hold the user's name
It should appear in the "Attendees" section.
Step 6. Tap Remove
The user in question will no longer belong to the group. If you want him to continue to participate (but not be an administrator), you need to add him again.
Step 7. Tap Add Participants
If the group has many members, you need to scroll to find this option, located at the bottom of the participant list.
Step 8. Select the person you removed
If you don't see it in the list, use the search box at the top of the screen to find it.
Step 9. Tap Add
The user you deleted will become a regular member of the group again, without being an administrator.
Advice
- Don't make a user you don't trust as an administrator. Once you acquire this role, it can take away your privileges.
- Any member of the group can change the chat name / title.
