Feebas is one of the hardest Pokemon to find in Emerald, especially since you'll have to go a long way. Finding Feebas, however, will allow you to evolve it into Milotic, and for this reason it is worth looking for. Additionally, Feebas are highly sought-after Pokemon in trading. Follow this guide to find one.
Steps
Step 1. Reach Route 119
This is the only area in Pokemon Emerald where you can track down a Feebas. You will find this path in the upper central part of the map, where it connects Forestopoli with Route 118.
- You will need the bike to reach the area above the waterfall.
- Bring a Pokemon with Surf to reach all the water boxes.
Step 2. Start fishing
There are hundreds of water squares on Route 119, but Feebas can only be found in six of them at a time. These six boxes are random, and the places where you find Feebas are likely to be different from those of other people.
Use Surf to fish in all water squares
Step 3. Use the Super Hook
It is possible to fish a Feebas with each hook, but the Super Hook will only make Feebas and Carvanha appear, and it will be easier to tell if you are in the right box.
Step 4. Fish by following a path
Start at the top of the river, moving back and forth as you go south. Make sure you try every box you can.
Step 5. Draw five times in each square
Feebas will not always appear the first time you draw. To make sure you don't accidentally skip a square that contains it, draw each square at least 5 times. Carvanhas can appear in the same spaces as Feebas.
Step 6. Capture more than one Feebas
When you have found a Feebas, capture others. You can catch as many as you like from the same spot, and these spots won't change if you leave the area. You can use the extra Feebas to exchange them with people who don't want to look for them.
Step 7. Change the boxes if you want
If you think that changing the boxes will help you find Feebas, you can talk to the boy in front of the Bluruvia town hall. Entering a new "Trend Phrase" will change the boxes where Feebas can be found. Even if you do, you can only ever find it on Route 119.
- There is no trending phrase that makes it "easier" to find Feebas. Each sentence will only produce a different arrangement of boxes in which you can find it, and the same sentence in two games will produce a different arrangement of boxes.
- You can find Feebas even without setting a trending phrase.
