This wikiHow teaches you how to change the 4-digit PIN code to unlock iPhone SIM card access. Blocking access to the SIM via the PIN code prevents unauthorized persons from being able to make calls or to have access to your personal data in every smartphone in which it is inserted.
Steps
Step 1. Launch the iPhone Settings app
It is characterized by a gray gear icon and is located on the Home of the device.
Step 2. Scroll the "Settings" menu down to be able to select the Cellular option
It is listed in the fifth group of menu options.
Step 3. Scroll down the page to be able to select the SIM PIN item
It is displayed at the bottom of the menu.
Step 4. Select the Change PIN option

Step 5. Enter the current SIM card PIN code
If you have not yet set up a custom PIN code, use the default one from your SIM card manager.
- To have the currently active PIN code, contact your carrier's customer service. Do not try to guess it by trial and error, as if you enter the wrong code three times in a row, the SIM card will be automatically blocked.
- If you do not know which is the carrier of the SIM card inserted in the iPhone, remove it from its slot to be able to view the logo or the name of the carrier printed directly on the SIM.
Step 6. Press the Finish button
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 7. Enter the 4-digit PIN code you wish to set

Step 9. Re-enter the PIN code
Step 10. Press the Finish button
At this point, access to the SIM card installed in the iPhone is protected by the new PIN code you just set.
Advice

- If you accidentally blocked your device's SIM card by trying to guess the PIN code, you can solve the problem by entering the PUK ("Personal Unlocking Key") code. It is normally attached to the SIM box, but if you have lost it you can contact your telephone operator's customer support.
