This article explains how to delete the security PIN code from the SIM card inserted in your iPhone. In this way, every time you turn on the device you can immediately make calls and surf the internet without having to enter the unlock PIN code.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Remove the SIM PIN Code
Step 1. Launch the iPhone Settings app
It is characterized by a gray icon and is normally located on the Home of the device.
Step 2. Scroll down the menu that appeared to be able to select the Phone item
It is displayed approximately in the middle of the "Settings" menu.
Step 3. Scroll down the "Phone" menu and select the SIM PIN option
It is displayed at the bottom of the page.
Step 4. Disable the green SIM PIN slider by moving it to the left
This will remove the SIM PIN code.
If the cursor in question is white, it means that the SIM card of the device is not currently protected by a PIN code
Step 5. Enter your SIM PIN
If you do not know this information, you will need to contact your carrier's customer service to receive a special unlock code (called PUK).
Step 6. Press the Finish button
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen. If the PIN code you entered is correct, the iPhone SIM card will be permanently unlocked.
Method 2 of 2: Contact the Phone Manager
Step 1. Call your carrier's customer support
Below you will find the list of customer service numbers of the major cell phone operators operating in Italy:
- Vodafone – 190;
- Tim – 187;
- Wind / Tre - 133;
- Iliad - 177;
- Make sure you have your details and SIM card serial number ready so that the operator can verify your identity.
Step 2. Select the nature of your problem using the auto responder options
In most cases, you will be greeted by an auto responder whose purpose is to direct you to the correct customer service department, based on the nature of your problem. After following the instructions and selecting the correct option, wait until you can speak to an operator.
Normally the waiting time to be able to speak to an operator is a few seconds, but depending on the volume of assistance requests it could increase to several minutes, so be patient
Step 3. Ask the customer service operator to tell you your SIM card unlock code
Remember to point out that you are not trying to unlock the iPhone, but simply the SIM card inserted in it.
Technically the name of this unlock code is "PUK". This is the code you will need to use to unlock a SIM that you have permanently locked after entering the wrong PIN code three times
Step 4. Make a note of the unlock PUK code
This is a four-digit code that will allow you to unlock your SIM card.
