This article explains how to post a new WhatsApp status. It should be noted that it is not possible to change an existing status, but it is possible to delete it and create a new one that can be viewed by all your contacts.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: iPhone
Step 1. Launch the WhatsApp app
It is characterized by a cartoon icon inside which a telephone handset is visible on a green background. If you are logged in with your account, the last screen you used before closing the app will be displayed.
If you have not yet signed in to WhatsApp, follow the instructions that will appear on the screen to be able to continue
Step 2. Tap the Status tab
It is located in the lower left corner of the screen.

If, when you started the WhatsApp app, the page of the last chat you participated in appeared, press the "Back" button

Step 3. Access the list of your states
Tap the item My status, located at the top of the screen.
If you want to add a new state without deleting the previous one (or if you don't have a state to delete), skip to the step in this section that explains how to create a new state
Step 4. Tap the Edit option
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 5. Select a state
Tap the state you want to delete. A check mark should appear on the left side of the state you have chosen.
If you want to delete more than one state, select them all one by one
Step 6. Press the Delete button
It will appear in the lower right corner of the screen after you have selected at least one state to clear.
Step 7. Select the Delete 1 Status Update option when prompted
It will appear in red at the bottom of the screen. The selected state will be removed from the list My status.
If you have chosen more than one state, the wording of the option in question will vary accordingly, for example Delete 3 status updates.
Step 8. Create a new state
Tap the camera icon on the right of the section My status, visible at the top of the page, then take a new photo (or select an existing one) of the subject you want to use as a status.
If you want to post just a text message, tap the pencil icon, also located on the right of the section My status, then type the message you want.
Step 9. Publish your status
Tap the "Send" icon
located in the lower right corner of the screen.
Your new status will remain visible to all your WhatsApp contacts for the next 24 hours, after which it will be automatically deleted
Method 2 of 2: Android devices
Step 1. Launch the WhatsApp app

Step 2. Tap the Status tab
It is located in the upper corner of the screen.
If, when you started the WhatsApp app, the page of the last chat you participated in appeared, press the "Back" button located in the upper left corner of the screen to return to the main screen of the application
Step 3. Press the ⋯ button
It is located to the right of the "My Status" section. A list of all currently active states will be displayed.
If you want to add a new state without deleting the previous one (or if you don't have a state to delete), skip to the step in this section that explains how to create a new state
Step 4. Select a state
Keep your finger pressed on the state you want to delete until a check mark appears on the left. At this point you can lift your finger from the screen.
If you want to delete more than one state, select them one by one after choosing the first one
Step 5. Tap the "Delete" icon
It is characterized by the design of a basket and is placed at the top of the screen.
Step 6. Press the Delete button when prompted
This way all the states you have selected will be cleared.
Step 7. Create a new state
Tap the camera icon at the bottom right of the screen, then take a new photo (or select an existing one) of the subject you want to use as a status.
If you want to post just a text message, tap the pencil icon located below the camera one, then type the message you want
Step 8. Publish your status
Tap the "Send" icon
located in the lower right corner of the screen.
