There are countless reasons why a user may need to change their computer's IP address. This tutorial will show you the steps to take to change the IP address of a computer connected to a wired or Wi-Fi network. Be careful, what you are editing is not the public IP address of your internet connection, for this purpose you should contact the customer service of your internet connection manager. Steps
Method 1 of 2: Windows
Step 1. Disable your network connection
Are you ready to show the world the technician in you? Follow these simple steps to disable your network connection:
- Use the 'Windows + R' hotkey combination. The 'Run' panel will appear.
- Type the command 'cmd' and hit enter.
- In the command prompt window, type the following command 'ipconfig / release', then hit enter.
Step 2. Log in to the 'Control Panel'
Select the 'Network and Internet' icon. Choose the 'Network and Sharing Center' option. Finally choose the item 'Change adapter settings'.
Step 3. Right click on the network connection you are using

Step 7. Log into a search engine and enter the following keywords 'free web proxie' in the search bar
Make sure you choose a reliable and safe source. The chosen site should provide a free proxy server service, clearly providing several factors:

- Connection time
- Guy
Step 8. Search for an appropriate proxy server, then type its IP address in the 'Web proxy server' field of your 'Network' panel
Step 9. Enter the port number
This parameter should also be indicated on the chosen website, immediately after the IP address. Make sure you have entered the correct values.
Step 10. Select the 'Apply' button and then 'Ok' to make the configuration changes effective

Warnings
- Sometimes, if they're very lucky (or you're unlucky enough to get an invalid IP address), they might even be able to locate your neighborhood!
- This only works in the case of Windows 7. Users using other operating systems, such as Mac OS X and Linux, will need to locate a different website.
- Unfortunately, even if you change your IP address several times, websites will still be able to identify your country of origin and even (if lucky) your city.
