Slime is great! It's fun, sticky, sticky, and disgusting. If green, it is even melio. There are several ways to create it. This article will show you the process.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using Borax
Step 1. Get the supplies
This is the most common method of making slime. You can use white or clear glue. If you are a child, ask an adult to help you as you need to be careful when handling borax. Here's what you need:
- 120 ml of white or clear glue
- 120 ml of cold water
- Green food coloring
- 1-5 tablespoons of borax
- 120 ml of hot water
- 2 glass bowls
- 2 tbsp
- Plastic container or resealable plastic bag
Step 2. Pour 120ml of glue and 120ml of cold water into a glass bowl
If the bottle of glue is 120ml, pour it directly into the container. Then, use the bottle to measure the water. In this way, you will not waste the residues contained inside.
- If you want to get clear slime, use clear glue.
- Otherwise, use the white one. The final result will be a pastel color.
Step 3. Add a few drops of green food coloring
The more you put, the darker the dough will be. Remember that if you use white glue, the color will be a pale green.
Step 4. Mix everything with a spoon
The color will need to be uniform, so you shouldn't see streaks, swirls, or piles that make the look uneven.
Step 5. Pour 120ml of hot water into another bowl
You will also need to mix the borax.
Step 6. Add 1-5 tablespoons of borax
Keep adding it until it has dissolved completely. The more you put in, the denser the slime will be. The less you use, the more fluid the dough will be.
If you are a child, ask an adult to help you with this step
Step 7. Mix the water and borax solution with the water and glue solution
You will see a mass forming. Keep spinning.
Step 8. Eliminate any residual water
Once the dough has set, you will see a quantity of water in the bottom of the bowl that is no longer absorbed by the mixture. Get rid of it by pouring it into another container and keep the pile you created.
Step 9. Mash and knead the mixture with your hands
The more you work it, the more it will lose its sticky and slippery texture. If it's too slimy, let it sit for a few minutes.
Step 10. Store the slime in an airtight container
You can use a plastic container with a lid or a resealable plastic bag. Make sure no air gets in, otherwise the dough will dry out.
Method 2 of 2: Using Liquid Starch
Step 1. Get the supplies
This method is less well known, but some people find it easier because you have to mix less. To prepare, equip yourself with the following material:
- 120 ml of white or clear glue
- Green food coloring
- Liquid starch
- Glass bowl
- Table spoon
- Plastic container or resealable plastic bag
Step 2. Pour the glue into the bowl
If you want to get clear slime, use clear glue. If you want a more compact color, choose the white one.
You can also use green glitter glue if you prefer a shimmery slime
Step 3. Add the green food coloring
Add a couple of drops of yellow dye if you want a lighter green. Keep in mind that if you use white glue, the dough will be pastel green.
Don't add food coloring if you're using green glitter glue
Step 4. Mix with a spoon
The color must be uniform and, therefore, you must not see streaks within the compound.
Step 5. Stir in the liquid starch until the glue has turned into a paste
Add one tablespoon of liquid starch at a time. You will need about two parts of glue and one part of liquid starch.
If you are a child, ask an adult to help you with this step
Step 6. Work with your hands
The more you mix, the smoother the slime will be. If it's too watery, let it sit for a few minutes. You can also try adding some liquid starch.
Step 7. Store it in an airtight container when you are done playing
You can use a plastic container with a lid or a resealable plastic bag.
Advice
- Use polyvinyl glue (PVA) for best results.
- Store the slime in the refrigerator to make it last longer.
- Store it in an airtight container to keep it clean and keep it from drying out.
- If it's too sticky or watery, let it sit for a few minutes or add more borax.
- If you want the dough to be more fluid and viscous, add more water or put less borax.
- Add a couple of teaspoons of glow-in-the-dark paint to the glue to make the slime glow in the dark. Leave it near a light source for 15 minutes before putting it in a dark room, otherwise it won't work.
- If you break a highlighter, put on a pair of gloves to avoid staining your fingers.
- Also, avoid letting the fluorescent slime come into contact with furniture or any surface that could get dirty.
Warnings
- Borax is poisonous if ingested.
- The glue should not be swallowed or inhaled.
