The clear slime (which looks almost like liquid glass) is a variation of the classic slime: you can see through the slime, which makes it ideal for playing with, even adding some decorations! If you want to make a different slime than usual, then clear slime can be an interesting alternative to all the other types that are made with white glue.
Ingrediants
Transparent Slime with Borax
- 120 ml of clear glue
- 240 ml of hot water and 30 ml of water at room temperature
- 2, 5 g of borax
Transparent Slime Without Borax
- 100 ml of transparent glue
- 200 ml of hot water and 60 m of water at room temperature
- 30 ml of saline solution
- 6 g of baking soda
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Making Clear Slime with Borax
Step 1. Prepare the borax solution
Take a small container and mix the borax into the hot water until it is completely diluted and the liquid becomes clear. Set the solution aside.
Step 2. Pour the clear glue into another bowl
Step 3. Add a tablespoon of water to the glue
Step 4. Add about 3 teaspoons of the borax solution to the glue
Mix thoroughly. The slime should begin to set and stick to the tool you are turning the dough with.
Step 5. Add more borax solution as needed
Add one tablespoon at a time; if you overdo it, the slime will be too compact.
Step 6. Start kneading with your hands
If the mixture is too sticky, add more borax solution. If it's too thick, add more glue.
Step 7. Play with clear slime
When you're done, store it in an airtight plastic bag or container.
The more you leave it in the container, the more transparent it becomes
Method 2 of 2: Making Clear Slime Without Borax
Step 1. Combine the hot water and baking soda
Pour both into a container and mix thoroughly until the baking soda has dissolved completely. Set the solution aside so that it cools down.
Step 2. Pour the clear glue into another bowl
Step 3. Add room temperature water to the bowl
Step 4. Put the saline solution
Step 5. Mix everything
Once mixed, the mixture will be a little liquid, but it will begin to thicken.
Step 6. Pour the glue mixture into the baking soda solution
Make sure the water has cooled down. You'll have to use your hands, so it doesn't have to burn.
Step 7. Swirl the baking soda solution well with your fingers
If you don't want to get your hands wet, you can use the tool you used to mix the glue slurry.
Step 8. Drain the baking soda solution into another container
If you want, you can store it using the bowl you made the glue mixture in.
Step 9. Play with clear slime
Take it out of the bowl and have fun pulling, kneading and crushing it. When you're done, store it in an airtight plastic bag or container.
Advice
- If you want to add a touch of creativity, try adding something like a small toy, glitter or beads.
- If you play with the slime for a long time, it will bubble. This is normal, but they may slightly alter the transparency of the dough.
- To get rid of the bubbles, let the slime sit for 2 to 3 days. If it's still a bit cloudy, wait a few more days. Store it in an airtight container.
