Bubble Slime is a great game that allows you to have fun with children and teach them some science! There are various ways to make a bubbly slime at home in a jiffy. Learn to make an effervescent dough or a mixture to blow into to get fantastic bubbles.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Prepare Bubble Slime with Effervescent Effect
Step 1. Pour 350ml of white glue into a bowl
Make sure you use white liquid glue, as gel, paste, or stick glue won't do. You can buy it on the Internet or in stationery stores. Usually, it sells in packs of 180ml, so you can use two bottles.
Step 2. Cover the top layer of glue with some foaming soap
You can dispense it directly from the container. Pour in enough to coat the entire layer of glue. The foam cover should be approximately 20mm high.
Step 3. Turn the soap and glue mixture
Use a spoon or stick to mix the two ingredients. You can use a metal, wooden, or plastic utensil to mix, but keep in mind that metal tools are generally more difficult to clean.
Step 4. Add a layer of shaving cream and mix
Spray a layer about 20 mm high on the surface of the mixture you just obtained. You have to cover it completely before you start spinning.
Make sure you use shaving cream, as shaving gel is not effective for this job
Step 5. Mix glitter, food coloring or paint (optional)
If you want a colorful or shiny slime, add a few drops of color or glitter. Paint will work fine too, but make sure you don't use an oil-based paint or the slime will grease.
Step 6. Pour a few drops of liquid soap to activate the slime
It is the ingredient that makes the dough chewy and allows it to thicken. Add a few drops of liquid soap and mix well.
- You can use any type of liquid soap, but if it's scented, your slime will also take on the same fragrance!
- You can also use liquid starch instead of soap.
Step 7. Use borax to activate the slime (optional)
Borax also acts as an activator. If you prefer to use it instead of liquid soap, mix 1 teaspoon of borax with 120ml of water before adding it to the slime. However, be careful as it can cause burns when mixed with certain chemicals!
Step 8. Touch the dough to see if it's sticky enough
After adding the soap, place a hand on the slime. When you pick it up, it should stay compact enough and you should be able to put it down without sticking to your hands. If it's sticky or flaking, add more drops of liquid soap and try again.
Do not pour more than a few drops at a time. If you overdo it, the dough becomes hard and difficult to shape, so you will be forced to throw it away
Step 9. Knead and knead the mixture for at least 3 minutes
This step is important because it ensures that the ingredients clump together evenly and that the slime doesn't solidify when you go to store it.
Step 10. Transfer the dough to a plastic container with a lid
Choose a plastic container that is large enough to hold your slime. Squeeze the mixture so that it adheres firmly to the bottom of the container.
Step 11. Cover the top with a thin layer of shaving foam (optional)
By putting a 6-7mm thick layer of shaving foam on the slime's surface before storing it, you will get a more effervescent blend. Gently knead it with your fingers. It's not a problem if you can't work this ingredient! This is an optional step, so don't worry if you skip it.
Step 12. Set it aside for two days
Close the container and leave it on for two days. This way, it will have time to develop a nice effervescent foam. You can wait longer, but no longer than a week.
Step 13. Take it out of the container and enjoy
After two days, grab your frothy slime and play with it! You can form a ball, stretch it, or just have fun popping the bubbles. It will last 3-4 weeks.
Method 2 of 2: Prepare the Bubble Slime with Stretch Effect
Step 1. Pour 180ml of white glue into a bowl
The quantity corresponds to a standard pack of glue, so a falcon will do. It's not a problem if you can't empty it completely!
Step 2. Sprinkle 2g of baking soda on the glue
Make sure you pour it evenly over the entire surface. Don't worry if you don't cover it perfectly. Just avoid it concentrating in one place, otherwise you will have a harder time mixing the mixture evenly.
Step 3. Mix the glue together with the baking soda
Turn them with a spoon or a special stick. It would be better to use a disposable wand, as it is not easy to remove the glue from normal wooden or metal tools!
Step 4. Add food coloring or glitter (optional)
Choose the dye or glitter you prefer! Even for this type of slime the paint is not likely to do well - if it is based on acrylic resins it is quite resistant to saline solutions.
Step 5. Add a few drops of buffered saline and mix
You can buy it on the Internet or at a pharmacy. Make sure the label says "buffered saline" because normal saline is not effective. Pour a couple of drops on the mixture and mix.
Step 6. Cover your hands with the buffered saline solution and knead the slime until it becomes elastic
Apply a few drops of saline solution to the palms of your hands and rub them until all of them are covered. Then, knead the dough until it has become elastic and has not lost its stickiness.
If it is still sticky after a few minutes, add more drops of saline. Don't overdo it, or the mixture can flake
Step 7. Use a straw to make slime bubbles
Start playing! Insert a plastic straw and blow. You can use the dough right away, but it will last a couple of weeks if you store it in an airtight container.
Advice
- The slime can last longer if you store it in the refrigerator.
- Don't worry if there is any liquid left in the bowl once you're done. As long as the slime feels soft and holds its texture, it will be fine!
- Try adding glow-in-the-dark, fluorescent, or metallic pigments.
