The easel is used by painters and is used to hold the picture still while they paint it; it can also be used in art exhibitions. This guide shows you how to build a solid wood easel, 2 meters high and 3 feet, which will serve to facilitate your artistic productions.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Cut the Material
Step 1. Saw a 15 ° angle from the tops of the two front feet 2065mm long each
Step 2. Take a measurement of 1950mm from the bottom of the feet
Step 3. Drill a 10mm hole using the drill through the front side (the longest one) at a right angle from the corner of the cut
Step 4. Cut the back leg to a length of 2025mm
Step 5. Make two 10mm holes on the front side (the longest one), one at 975mm from the bottom and the other at 1850mm
Step 6. Cut the pieces that cross horizontally to a length of 1200mm
Step 7. Cut the plywood (by 18mm) to make the backing board with a length of 1200mm and a width of 825mm
Method 2 of 3: Assemble the Feet
Step 1. Place your feet on the ground and put your back foot in the center
Step 2. Line up the holes at the top of the feet
Step 3. Put bolts in the holes and use washers and nuts on the end of each bolt
Step 4. Spread the front feet to a distance of 1125mm
Tighten the nuts.
Method 3 of 3: Complete Assembly
Step 1. Complete the assembly
While the assembled feet are still on the ground, the tops are bolted together and the front feet are 1125mm apart, align, drill a hole and bolt into the piece that crosses horizontally 950mm from the bottom of the feet frontal.
Step 2. Glue and nail the plywood backing board to the front feet as shown in Figure 1
Make sure there is glue between the bottom of the backing board and the piece that crosses horizontally.
Step 3. Finish by raising the stand and spreading your feet to get an optimal height according to your needs
Use a rope to keep your feet from spreading too far. Pass the end of the rope through the hole in the back foot and tie a knot. Tie the other end to an eyelet attached to the back of the horizontal piece.
