This article explains how to transfer money from your PayPal account to your bank account or another user's PayPal profile. Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer money from a PayPal account directly to another person's bank account.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Withdraw Money with PayPal (iPhone / Android)
Step 1. Open the PayPal app
The icon is a white "P" with a blue background.
Step 2. Press Login
You will see this entry in the lower left corner of the screen.
Step 3. Enter your email and password
Once done, press the button Log in.
If your version of the app uses Touch ID, you can scan your fingerprint to open PayPal
Step 4. Press Manage Balance at the top of the screen
This tab shows the current balance.
Step 5. Press Transfer Money
You will see this entry in the lower right corner of the screen.
This item is not present if you have less than one euro in your PayPal balance
Step 6. Select the bank account you want to transfer the money to
Usually, Paypal allows you to transfer money for free in one or two business days to the accounts you add to your profile. If, on the other hand, you have added a card (which you can top up in a few minutes), the top up costs € 0.25. Press one of the options, then Next at the bottom of the screen.
If you authorize the transfer after 7pm, on a weekend or public holiday, it will likely take longer to complete. These transactions are also subject to review and may be delayed or blocked until any issues are resolved
Step 7. Type in the quantity to be withdrawn
There is no comma button on the PayPal keypad, but in addition to the traditional numbers 0-9, you will also find the "00" key, so enter the exact value accordingly.
- For example, if you want to withdraw three euros, write "300".
- You have to withdraw a minimum of € 1.
Step 8. Press Next at the bottom of the screen
Step 9. Press Transfer
This button is located at the bottom of the screen. Press it and you will transfer the amount of money you have indicated by PayPal to your bank account.
The transfer usually takes place the following day if you authorize it before 7pm, while it can take longer on weekends or holidays
Method 2 of 4: Withdraw Money from PayPal (Desktop)
Step 1. Open the PayPal web page
As this is basically a banking service, you need to log in to view your profile.
Step 2. Click Login in the upper right corner of the page
Step 3. Enter your email and password
You can do this in the fields in the center of the page. Once done, click Log in under the password field, in order to access your profile.
Step 4. Click My PayPal
You will see this button at the top right of the page. Press it and your account screen will open. This step is only necessary if you see an advertisement with the "Go to your account" button.
Step 5. Click Transfer Money
This item is located under the "PayPal Balance" and "Top-up Account" links in the top left column of the page.
Step 6. Select the bank account you want to transfer the money to

Step 7. Type in the amount of money to withdraw
You can do this in the window in the center of the page. Use the numeric keypad on your keyboard to enter the digit, remembering to enter cents. There is no need to press the comma, because it is already there by default.
You must withdraw at least € 1
Step 8. Click Next
This button is located at the bottom of the page.
Step 9. Click Transfer (amount entered) € now
This will transfer the money to your bank account.

Method 3 of 4: Send Money with PayPal (iPhone / Android)
Step 1. Open the PayPal app
The icon is a white "P" with a blue background.
Step 2. Press Login
You will see this entry in the lower left corner of the screen.
Step 3. Enter your email and password
Once done, press the button Log in.
If your version of the app uses Touch ID, you can scan your fingerprint to open PayPal
Step 4. Press Send Money
You will find this button in the "Send and Request" section in the center of the screen.
When you send money via PayPal, the money is withdrawn from your bank account if there are not enough funds
Step 5. Enter the email or phone number of the payment recipient
You can do this at the top of the screen.
- If this is your first time sending money, press Start at the bottom of the screen.
- If present, you can press the contact name below the search bar.
Step 6. Press the person's name
If the user you entered has a PayPal account, their name will appear below the search bar.
Step 7. Press a payment option
You will find two:
- Friends and relatives: Personal payments. In this case, PayPal does not withhold any commission.
- Goods and services: Commercial payments. PayPal retains 2, 9% of the amount sent, plus 0, 3 € additional.
Step 8. Type the amount you want to send
You won't find the comma key in the PayPal numeric keypad, so you'll need to add two zeros to the end of the sum.
Step 9. Press Next at the bottom of the screen
Step 10. Press Submit Now
You will see this button at the bottom of the screen. Press it and you will send the indicated figure to the person you have selected.
- You can check where the money is withdrawn from (e.g. bank account or PayPal balance) at the bottom of the page.
- If you want to add a note to the payment, press add a note at the top of the screen, then type your text and press Done.
Method 4 of 4: Send Money With PayPal (Desktop)
Step 1. Open the PayPal web page
As this is basically a banking service, you need to log in to view your profile.
Step 2. Click Login in the upper right corner of the page
Step 3. Enter your email and password
You can do this in the fields in the center of the page. Once done, click Log in under the password field, in order to access your profile.
Step 4. Click My PayPal
You will see this button at the top right of the page. Press it and your account screen will open.
Step 5. Click Pay or Send Money
You will find this button at the top of the screen, just below the magnifying glass icon.
Step 6. Click a payment type
You will notice two options at the top:
- Pay for goods or services: the recipient will pay a commission of 2.9%, plus 30 cents.
- Send money to friends and family: the transaction is completely free.
Step 7. Write an email, name or phone number
You can do this in the search bar at the top. Enter the information of the person you want to send the money to.
You can also click on a contact name if it is listed under the search bar
Step 8. Click Next to the right of the text field
If you clicked on a contact name, skip this step
Step 9. Enter the number to send
You can do this in the window in the center of the page.
- You can also click on the field add a note if you wish to accompany the transaction with text.
- If you wish to change the currency, click the field below the figure, then click the name of the desired currency.
Step 10. Click Continue at the bottom of the page
Step 11. Click Send Money Now at the bottom of the page
Press this button and it will send the indicated figure to the user you have selected. Before the money is withdrawn from your account, the transfer must be accepted.
