PayPal offers one of the easiest ways to send and receive virtual payments. For this purpose, it is possible to request a sum of money from someone using the mobile application or the website.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using the PayPal Application (iOS / Android)
Step 1. Open the PayPal application
If you are not already logged in, enter your email address and password.
Step 2. Tap Request Money
Step 3. Tap Get Started
Step 4. Tap Access Contacts
You may need to authorize PayPal by tapping OK.
Step 5. Enter a name, email address or phone number
You can also tap on a contact's name.
Step 6. Enter the amount you wish to receive
Step 7. Tap Next
Step 8. Tap Apply Now
If desired, you can also add a note.
Step 9. At this point the request will have come to an end
Wait for the payment to be made.
Method 2 of 2: Using the PayPal Website (Desktop)
Step 1. Open the PayPal website
If you are not already logged in, enter your email address and password.
Step 2. Go to the section
Step 3. Click Create your PayPal. Me link
Step 4. Type your preferred link
Step 5. Click Create Link
Step 6. Customize your PayPal profile
You can add the following elements to the link:
- An image;
- A custom background;
- Differentiation between "Friends and family" and "Goods and services".
Step 7. Click Create Link
Step 8. Click Copy
Step 9. Send the link to a contact
You can do it as you wish: via email, SMS, instant message and so on.
Step 10. Wait for the contact to pay you and the process will be complete
Advice
- Venmo is another easy-to-use service for sending payments.
- If you do not want to use the function that allows you to request money, you can also receive a payment by sending the e-mail address you have associated with PayPal to the person concerned. The user can use it to search for you on PayPal in the "Send money" section and send you the payment.

- Never send or accept money from people you don't know.
- Make sure your internet connection is secure when sending or receiving money on PayPal.
