This wikiHow teaches you how to remove movies and TV shows from your Netflix viewing history using an iPhone or iPad. While this feature is not available on the Netflix mobile application, it is possible to delete the history using a browser such as Safari. The history may continue to be visible for up to 24 hours after deletion.
Steps
Step 1. Visit https://www.netflix.com using a browser
While there is no feature that allows you to delete the history within the Netflix application, you can use Safari or any other browser to perform the procedure.
- If you are not signed in to Netflix in your browser, click on Log in in the upper right corner, then log in by typing the email address and password you have associated with your account.
- It is not possible to delete the history from the "Children" profile.
Step 2. Press on the ☰ menu
This button, which corresponds to three horizontal lines, is located in the upper left corner of the page.
Step 3. Click on your profile name
It's at the top of the menu (on the left side of the screen), next to your profile picture. This way you will be able to view all the profiles associated with your account.
Step 4. Select the profile from which you want to delete viewing activities
You can delete the history of any user, except that of the "Children" profile.
Step 5. Press the ☰ menu again
It is the same button with the three horizontal lines that is in the upper left corner.
Step 6. Click on Account
This option is located at the top of the menu.
Step 7. Scroll down and select Content Viewing Activity
This option is found in the section titled "Profiles and Family Filter". Your viewing history will then be shown.
Step 8. Scroll down and select Hide all
This option is at the bottom of your viewing history. A confirmation pop-up will appear.
If you only want to hide certain shows or movies that you have watched, click on the crossed out circle next to the title of a certain episode or show to remove it from the timeline
Step 9. Hit the blue Yes button, hide all my viewing activity
This blue button is located in the confirmation pop-up. Within 24 hours, the list of programs and films you have watched will no longer be visible. Also, Netflix will no longer give you recommendations based on deleted viewing activities.
