This article explains how to delete Google Maps search history. You can clear your search history using a browser or the Google Maps application on a phone.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Delete Locations from a Browser
Step 1. Open a browser
You can use any browser you want, such as Safari, Chrome or Firefox.
Step 2. Visit the Google Maps navigation page
This will open a map with red dots that indicate all the places you have been.
Step 3. Click on
This will delete the entire location history associated with your Google account on all devices.
- A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm the deletion of all location history. Confirm to continue.

You can also decide to delete the location history of a particular day. Just select a date from the box in the upper left corner and click
Method 2 of 2: Delete Locations Using the Application
Step 1. Click on the Google Maps icon
The icon of this application can be found on the home screen or in the app menu. It is depicted by a white "G" on a colored background.
Step 2. Click on ☰
This will open a side menu with various options, such as seeing locations, viewing history and managing your contributions
Step 3. Select the "Settings"
Step 4. Tap on Maps History
Step 5. Press ⁝ next to the location you want to delete
A pop-up will appear allowing you to see the details or delete the location.
Step 6. Select Delete
- To finalize the deletion, you will have to press Delete again in the pop-up.
- This method allows you to delete only one location at a time.
