This article explains how to disable two-step verification of your Samsung and Google accounts using a Galaxy mobile or tablet.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Disable Two-Step Verification of a Samsung Account
Step 1. Open the Galaxy "Settings"
To do this, drag the notification panel down from the top of the Home screen, then tap the gear icon.
Step 2. Click on Cloud and Account
The icon for this option looks like a key and is located at the top of the menu.
Step 3. Tap My Profile
Step 4. Tap Manage Samsung Account
This option is located at the top of the screen, below the email address.
Step 5. Enter your password or confirm with your fingerprint
Once verified, your account will be logged in.
Step 6. Tap the Security tab
It is located at the top of the screen.
Step 7. Click Deactivate in the section titled "Two-Step Verification"
This option is located towards the center of the screen. A confirmation message will appear to remind you that this action could compromise the security of the device.
Step 8. Tap Confirm
Two-Step Verification will then be disabled.
Method 2 of 2: Disable Two-Step Verification of a Google Account
Step 1. Open the Galaxy "Settings"
To do this, drag the notification panel down from the top of the Home screen, then tap the gear icon.
Step 2. Click on Google
The icon is the outline of a blue "G".
Step 3. Select Login and Security
It's at the top of the menu.
Step 4. Tap Two-Step Verification
You will be prompted to enter your Google password.
Step 5. Enter your password and click Next
A verification code will be sent to your registered email address or phone number.
Step 6. Enter the verification code and tap Next
If you have activated "Google Prompt", press "Yes" when prompted.
Step 7. Click Deactivate at the top of the screen
A confirmation message will appear to remind you that turning off 2-Step Verification will make your account less secure.
Step 8. Tap Deactivate to confirm
At this point, two-step verification will be disabled on your Google account.
