Whether you have dry skin, suffer from acne or have scars, you probably want to have smoother skin. It's easier than it looks! These tips are valid for both men and women.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Cleaning
Step 1. Wash your face every day
To have smooth facial skin, the first key step is constant maintenance. A single day of neglect can make you retreat a lot, just as soon as you could start noticing the first progress. Take care of your skin every day if you really want to see results.
Step 2. Apply the right soap, the right way
Use a specific face soap as regular soap will dry out the skin too much. Apply it to wet skin and rub it gently in circular motions with your fingers.
Step 3. Rinse thoroughly
Rinse all soap off with water and avoid using wipes which can reintroduce dirt and germs, causing blemishes.
Step 4. Dry properly
Let your face air dry or gently pat your face with a clean towel. You should avoid other objects coming into contact with your skin as much as possible.
Method 2 of 4: Exfoliation
Step 1. Make a face scrub
Make a scrub by mixing 3 parts of baking soda and one part of water. Baking soda will help dry out impurities and remove dead skin cells.
- Alternatively, you can prepare a honey and sugar-based scrub.
- Never use a salt-based scrub. This would dry out your skin by removing the essential oils and minerals for its nourishment.
Step 2. Wet your face
Wash your face with lukewarm water before using the exfoliator. The ideal would be to do this in the shower.
Step 3. Apply the exfoliant on your face
Make sure you cover the most problematic areas such as the cheeks and forehead.
Step 4. Massage it into the skin
Continue rubbing the exfoliant, making circular motions with your fingers.
Step 5. Rinse and dry
Wash off the scrub and pat your face with a towel. Make sure you apply a moisturizer.
Method 3 of 4: Hydration
Step 1. Moisturize the skin after washing
You should moisturize your face often and always after washing it. Soap and water can dry out the skin and create the perfect environment to foster infections (pimples).
If you have oily skin, use a non-greasy moisturizer
Step 2. Use a normal skin cream
A classic moisturizer is suitable for most people and for frequent application.
Step 3. Use a rich cream
A heavier moisturizer should only be used occasionally. Any product containing lanolin is perfect for helping you have more resilient skin. Apply a small amount (about the size of a pea to the whole face) and smear it when the skin is still damp after washing.
Step 4. Moisturize your skin in moderation
Never overdo the quantities as you will make the situation worse instead of improving it.
Method 4 of 4: Treatment
Step 1. Cleanse the skin using turmeric
Turmeric is a spice that you can buy in any supermarket and is used around the world as a folk medicine. Mix one part of plain yogurt and one part of turmeric until smooth. Spread it on your face (after washing) and rinse after twenty minutes of laying.
- Avoid contact with eyes.
- Don't use this mask too often or if you have very fair skin. Turmeric can stain the skin and therefore it is not a good idea to leave it on for too long or use it too frequently.
- Rinse with water only and do not use soap. The natural bacteria in yogurt will help keep your face clean.
- Turmeric may also stain fabrics and towels.
Step 2. Cleanse the skin using apple cider vinegar
Take a bottle of apple cider vinegar and pour a small amount onto toilet paper or a handkerchief. Rub into your face and leave for two minutes before rinsing off.
- Rinse with water only and do not use soap. Natural vinegar bacteria will help keep your face clean.
- The smell may be very strong but it will fade as soon as you dry.
Step 3. Cleanse the skin using honey
Mix one part of honey with one part of plain yogurt until you get a homogeneous mixture. Spread it on your face (after washing) and rinse after twenty minutes of laying.
Step 4. Remove the causes of infection
Germs, dirt, sebum and other harmful substances are the main cause of blemishes, pimples and blackheads that plague even the cleanest of people. To counteract their appearance, you should change your pillow case often, stop touching your face, and clean and disinfect objects that come into contact with your face, such as glasses.
