We've all been there: you are about to leave the house, you feel a glow, but suddenly you notice that you have a misplaced eyebrow. You can learn how to adjust your brows to keep them under control and also a number of quick ways to fix unruly hair when you don't have a lot of time.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Adjust the Eyebrows
Step 1. Decide what shape your brows should be to make your face stand out
Take a pencil and hold it vertically to the side of the nose. The point between the two eyebrows where the pencil is located corresponds to the point that should reach the eyebrow from that side. If your eyebrow is shorter than where the pencil is resting, you can fill it in lightly with a pencil or eyebrow powder.
- Then, tilt the pencil towards the eye which is on the same side while continuing to keep the base on the nostril. When the pencil is over the pupil, stop it and see where it went. The arch of the eyebrow should be where the pencil stopped above the pupil.
- Finally, keeping the lower end of the pencil on the nostril, continue to tilt it until it reaches the outer corner of the eye on that side. Where the pencil arrives should correspond to the end of the eyebrow. As with the beginning, you can fill in the ends if they don't reach the pencil. If they go beyond the pencil line, remove the eyebrows at the ends until you reach the desired level.
Step 2. Remove or fix any hair that is not expected in your ideal eyebrows
Use a pair of tweezers and a magnifying mirror and carefully remove any hair that is outside the previously drawn brow line. The lower curve of the eyebrows must match the upper one. The tip of the eyebrow should be around the end of the eye socket.
Do not thin out too much: it should be the thickest part. Also, do not remove hair from the top of the eyebrows, unless you have particularly abnormal hair. Use the natural shape of the top of the brow to shape the arch
Step 3. Start at the bottom
Advance slowly, taking breaks to check how much you are pruning them. Make sure you don't overdo it. After fixing the lower part, check the upper part of the eyebrows. Many beauty salons suggest not removing hair from the top, although it can be useful for those with "jagged" looking eyebrows. Removing uneven brows from the top will help give a neater look.
Step 4. Check them carefully
If you do this at home, use a comb to brush the hair upwards. Keeping the hairs up, begin to pry out any that protrude beyond the medium level with a pair of scissors. Be careful not to cut them too short. Repeat the process by combing the hair down and trimming it.
Although it is possible to do this at home, it is preferable to visit a professional beautician to avoid cutting the hair too short and creating a "hole" in the eyebrows
Step 5. Make them slightly different from each other
Your brows shouldn't be identical. Use the differences in their natural shape and the position of your nose and eyes to guide your work. Unlike most makeup looks, finish one eyebrow before starting with the other. Finally compare them and make sure they look alike.
Method 2 of 2: Other Methods
Step 1. Use a toothbrush as a comb
Wet an old toothbrush and shake off the water. Dry the bristles further by placing a finger on top and sliding it along the bristles with a little pressure. The toothbrush should be slightly damp. Then use it to comb your brows.
- Use only the ends of the bristles to adjust the arch and angle of the eyebrows. You don't have to repeat the whole process for the other eyebrow, just comb it out.
- If your brows are really wild, spray them with a light amount of hairspray.
Step 2. Give it a quick pruning
Use an eyebrow pencil to draw the shape you want. Then, with a pair of tweezers, remove any hair that looks out of place; finally, comb them quickly with a dry toothbrush. Fill in the holes with the pencil and then soften the correction so that it blends in with the rest.
- Make sure the long hairs at the ends don't have a base in the center. If so, you can trim them, but be careful to keep your brows regular.
- Help yourself in the operation with a magnifying mirror. It can be of great help in finding the hairs to remove.
Step 3. Shave your eyebrows
Use hair removal strips, not hot or cold wax to avoid potential eye hazards. If you decide to completely shave, watch some videos on how to draw your eyebrows, so that you can do it correctly, and try different methods. Make sure you make them look natural and get a pencil in a color that matches your hair.
Don't overdo it with waxing. It's easy to get carried away and achieve a "witch" look
Step 4. Consider going to a hair removal center
Many nail salons offer this service at relatively low prices. However, you may want to get a referral from your friends, as a bad wax can be really painful. After waxing, the beautician will likely apply some lotion and trim any unruly hair. This can be a great solution if you are looking for a shape to give your brows, but have no idea how to get the look you want.
Step 5. Apply conditioner in the shower
It may sound weird, but if you apply some conditioner to your brows, they will be smoother and shinier and easier to fix once you get out of the shower.
Advice
- Once the eyebrows are disciplined, repeat the operation every two months or so.
- If you can't find petroleum jelly, use some fat cream.
- Be patient - it takes some time to discipline your brows.

- Adjust your brows only if you already know how to do it.
- Never shave your eyebrows - the result will be bad.
