Slime is a slimy, sticky and revolting substance that feels cold and annoying to the touch. In other words, it's a blast for all the children of the world. You can buy it at a toy store, but if you want to save a little, you can also make it at home. Although borax is normally used to make slime, it can be substituted with cornstarch (or cornstarch) to make a deliciously disgusting and not at all toxic product. Slime is perfect for entertaining kids at a birthday party, Halloween party, a school activity or, more simply, on a gray and boring rainy day.

- 3-4 drops of food coloring
- 140 g of Corn Starch (Maizena)

- Contact lens solution
- Dishwasher detergent
- Dyes / Eyeshadows (optional)
- Lotion (optional)
Edible Slime
- 400 g of sweetened condensed milk
- 14 g of corn starch
- 10-15 drops of food coloring
Slime with Borotalco
- Half a cup of liquid glue
- food coloring
- Half a cup of talcum powder
Slime with Powdered Fibers
- Waterfall
- Food coloring (optional)
- 5 ml of fiber powder
- 240 ml of water
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Regular Slime
First of all, mix together glue and lots of liquid for the contact lenses; mix well. Then add some dishwashing detergent and keep stirring lightly. The detergent should clump together. Reach out and pull it out; start playing. It should still be very sticky, but should become rubber-like with use. To color it add food coloring or eyeshadow to the mixture. Pour in some lotion to make it more supple.
Method 2 of 5: Simple Slime with Corn Starch
Step 1. Pour 350ml of water into a small saucepan
Heat the water on the stove without boiling it. You don't want to use boiling water or you'll have to wait for it to cool before you can knead and mix the slime manually.
You can also put the water in a suitable container to heat it in the microwave for about 1 minute
Step 2. Pour 250ml of hot water into a bowl
Add 3 to 4 drops of green food coloring to give the water a sufficiently dark shade. When you create the slime, the color will be diluted slightly. Stir with a spoon.
Step 3. Weigh 140g of cornstarch
Pour it into a second large bowl. Corn starch is now also known as cornstarch.
Step 4. Slowly pour the colored water into the cornstarch bowl
Mix the ingredients using your hands to get the consistency of a thick dough.
Step 5. Adjust the consistency of the slime
If it is too liquid, add more starch. Conversely, if it is too thick, use the water left in the saucepan. This decision is the result of your personal preferences.
Continue to make any necessary adjustments to get a blend that is the same consistency as the slime you want. You will need to be able to insert your fingers into the slime with ease and it should feel dry to the touch
Step 6. Make the slime even more fun by adding extra ingredients (optional)
You can use gummy worms, plastic bugs, toy eyeballs, etc. They are all great ideas to have fun at a Halloween party or to liven up a trip to nature or a scientific meeting place.
Step 7. Store your slime in a sealed container to protect it from the air, it will last longer
Method 3 of 5: Edible Slime
Step 1. Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a saucepan or saucepan
Step 2. Add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to the condensed milk
Turn on a low heat and simmer the mixture. Stir constantly.
Step 3. Once it has thickened, you can remove the mixture from the heat
Add the food coloring by dosing the proportions according to the color tone you want to obtain.
Step 4. Let the slime cool
When it has cooled down, you can decide to use it to play or eat it. Be careful as it may stain lighter fabrics, clothing and carpets.
Step 5. Finished
Method 4 of 5: Slime with Borotalco
Step 1. Pour 120ml of vinyl glue into a bowl
Step 2. Add 1 or 2 drops of food coloring
Step 3. Mix and blend the ingredients carefully to distribute the color evenly
Step 4. Add half a cup of talcum powder (about 60g)
If necessary, increase the doses of talcum powder to make your slime reach the desired consistency.
Step 5. Play with your slime
Store it in an airtight container.
Method 5 of 5: Slime with Powdered Fibers
Step 1. Blend 1 teaspoon of powdered fiber with 240ml of water
Make sure the container you choose is suitable for microwave use, as you will need to use it later.
Step 2. Add the food coloring in drops, until the mixture of water and fiber has reached the desired shade
The color obtained will be that of your slime, it will not fade later. Mix it carefully.
Step 3. Put the mixture in the microwave
Heat it on high power for 4 to 5 minutes. Check the mixture from time to time and make sure it doesn't boil excessively and risk leaking out of the bowl.
Step 4. Let the mixture sit for 2 - 4 minutes
After this time it should have cooled down sufficiently.
Step 5. Repeat the cooking and cooling process 2 - 6 times
The more times you complete the process, the denser your slime will become.
Step 6. Let the slime cool in the microwave
Allow it to rest for about 10 minutes. Make sure you don't start handling it before it has completely cooled down as it will be very very hot.
You can transfer the slime to a plate or cutting board where it can cool down
Advice
- The slime making process can be quite chaotic. Wear old clothes and cover delicate surfaces.
- Do not put the slime in contact with your clothes, it could stain them.
- Starch added to colored water will lighten its tone.
- You can replace the food coloring with a small amount of powdered paint, add it to the starch, before adding it to the water.
