Generally, to make iced tea, you boil a liter of water and wait for it to cool for a long time before you can drink the homemade tea. If you want something quick, the alternative is to use instant iced tea powder. However, here is a recipe for authentic iced tea that you can drink immediately, be it green tea or any other type. This recipe takes about 2 minutes to prepare and you will be able to drink the iced tea after just one minute.
Ingrediants
For 1 liter of iced green tea you will need:
- 800 ml of cold water, from the refrigerator or from the tap
- 200 ml of hot boiled water
- 4 - 5 teaspoons of lemon juice
- 4 bags of green tea, 3 bags of another type of green tea and 1 bag of mint tea
- Liquid sugar (or normal sugar, fine, see Tips) (for flavor)
- 2 tablespoons of fruit syrup or fruit juice (this is the secret ingredient, don't forget it)
- Ice cubes
For 1 liter of any other type of tea, you will need:
- 4 bags of your favorite tea
- 800 ml of cold water
- 200 ml of hot boiled water
- 4 - 5 teaspoons of lemon juice
- Liquid sugar (or normal sugar, fine, see Tips) (for flavor)
- Ice cubes
Steps
Step 1. Fill a pitcher with 800ml of cold water
Step 2. Fill a heat-resistant glass with hot, freshly boiled water
Add one or two tea bags at the same time until you have a glass of very strong tea.
Step 3. Slowly pour the freshly brewed hot tea into the pitcher
Step 4. Repeat the action with the other tea bags
Step 5. Add the sweetener
When you have added all the tea, add the liquid sugar to your liking.
Step 6. Add 4 or 5 tablespoons of lemon juice
Step 7. Add fruit syrup or fruit juice
Step 8. Add ice cubes and allow to cool for about 1 minute
Your homemade iced tea is ready!
Step 9. Finished
Advice
If you don't have liquid sugar, combine hot water with the same dose of sugar. Boil everything in a saucepan over medium heat. Boil for about 2 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved. Use it right away as a tea sweetener. Let the rest of the sugar cool and then store it in the refrigerator. Use it to sweeten other cold drinks. 1 teaspoon of liquid sugar is slightly less sweet than classic sugar
Warnings
- Be careful with hot water.
- Make sure you pour the cold water into the pitcher first. Pouring cold water after hot water could break the jug.
