Shiva is the supreme God of Yoga. He possesses a cosmic consciousness, reigns above the world of duality and can be seen as the symbol of a victorious yogi. It lives and reigns in the light (peace-unity-bliss) and, as a cosmic consciousness, it can present itself in various forms. The most famous incarnations of Shiva are the meditator, the bliss (the karma yogi), the one who sacrifices the ego (subordinate to the goddess Kali under the Divine will) and the one who dances with life (Nataraja). Shiva is the Master of life, and lives it fully with the qualities of earth (associated with Brahma, happiness), fire (associated with Rudra, power), water (associated with Vishnu, love), air (associated with Muni, wisdom) and the ether (associated with all that exists, space, unity, transcendence).
