In Minecraft, chests are special blocks that allow your character to store and organize items collected throughout the game.
Steps
Part 1 of 6: Building a Single Crate
A single crate is capable of holding up to 27 stacks (groups) of objects or blocks, and therefore has room for up to 1728 blocks.
Step 1. Get 8 blocks of wooden planks
Step 2. Place the axis blocks in the construction grid of the work table
Arrange the blocks in the following way to build the crate: fill the top and bottom row of the grid completely, then put one block in the box to the left of the middle row and another block in the box to the right of the middle row (in simple terms, fill the grid with blocks of wooden planks completely, except for the middle box of the middle row).
Step 3. Place your crate in the place you prefer
Always leave the space above the box free, otherwise you won't be able to open it!
There are some blocks that, even if placed on top of the cash register, will not prevent it from opening. Among these blocks are those of: water, lava, leaves, cacti, glass, snow, stairs, cultivated land, cakes, beds, other chests, torches, rails, signs and some others (non-opaque blocks)
Part 2 of 6: Building a Double Chest
A double chest has 54 spaces and can contain as many stacks of items. It is considered a single entity (it is as if it were a single box with six rows of boxes) and it does not matter which of the two blocks that compose it you click. It can hold up to 3456 blocks.
Step 1. Build two crates following the single crate procedure described above
Double crates are not built in the grid.
Step 2. Place two single speakers side by side
The game will automatically merge them and you will get a double chest.
It is not possible to build two or more double crates side by side
Part 3 of 6: Building a Trap Chest
These speakers are virtually identical to regular speakers, except for a couple of differences. The main feature is that the trap boxes, when opened, emit a redstone signal. Another feature is that these crates can be placed alongside normal crates without forming a double crate.
Step 1. Build a normal single crate
Step 2. Build a tripping wire hook
These objects are built in a work table by placing, in the same column, a block of wooden planks (any) at the bottom, a stick in the center and an iron ingot at the top.
Step 3. Combine the hook with the crate in the construction grid
The arrangement of the elements is not important.
It is possible to place two Trap Crates side by side to get a Double Trap Crate, but Trap Crates cannot be combined with regular Crates
Part 4 of 6: Understanding the Arrangement of Items in Chests
Step 1. Double chests have a cardinal orientation system that affects the arrangement of the elements inside them
This allows you to determine which objects contained in the crate will be dropped on the ground when one of the two blocks is broken.
- The three upper rows of the chest are those relating to the block (of the two that make up the chest) which is further east or north.
- The lower three rows of the chest are those relating to the block of the chest that is further south or west.
- In the double chest, you will find the items arranged on the side relative to the southernmost or easternmost block, depending on the orientation of the chest.
Part 5 of 6: Using Your New Cashier
If this is your first time using a speaker, here's what you need to do.
Step 1. Click with the right mouse button on the crate
This way, you will open it.
Step 2. Transfer items from your inventory to the cashier
Click on the item you want to place in the crate by holding down the "shift" key. The object will move to the first available box.
Step 3. Take items from the chest
As before, holding down the "shift" key, click on the item in the chest and it will move to the first available box in your inventory.
- Left clicking will allow you to grab the entire stack of items in the box. Left click on a square again to move objects to that position.
- Right-clicking will allow you to take half the number of objects in a square.
- Right-click on the target box to place a single unit of the type of object you are moving in that location.
Step 4. To close the chest, simply press the inventory key or the Esc key
Part 6 of 6: Finding Crates
Step 1. Sometimes, it is possible to find a pre-built crate by exploring the world
Collect the interesting items and tools that you find in the crates that are generated when the world is created. The best places to look for these chests are dungeons (where they are guarded by hostile mobs though), NPC villages, abandoned mines, jungle and desert temples, and strongholds (such as Overworld fortresses).
Advice
- Speakers always face your direction when placed.
- The crates take on the appearance of gift packages on Christmas Eve and Christmas.
- If a crate is destroyed, it will drop its contents to the ground. You will be able to retrieve the items from the ground and place them in another chest. It should be noted that if only half of a double chest is destroyed, the objects related to the destroyed block will fall to the ground, but the other block will remain intact and will turn into a single chest which will contain the objects related to its own block (see section "Understanding the Arrangement of Items in Chests"). You will still need to retrieve the items related to the destroyed block, which will fall to the ground even if there is enough space in the crate that remains intact.
