Do you want to have a sleepover but have no idea how to do it? Follow these steps and have a great evening!
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Preparation
Step 1. Send out the invitations at least a week in advance so your friends won't make any other commitments
Include data such as location, time, things to bring, and attendees. Maybe even explain what the theme will be, if you're going to pick one, or why you've decided to throw a sleepover. You can invite by calling, texting or emailing or in person. If necessary, remind guests to bring a sleeping bag and pillow with them. Don't call too many people or it will create confusion.
Step 2. Clean the house so you don't feel embarrassed with the guests and create a good party environment
Pay special attention to the bathrooms and your bedroom.
Step 3. Prepare the necessary supplies for the activities you have planned in time, otherwise you might get bored:
nail polishes, makeup, TV, DVD player, girl's movies, food and drinks for dinner and breakfast.
Step 4. If you like, decorate your bedroom according to the theme of the party:
- Close the blinds and light candles throughout the room and fill it with colorful balloons.
- Paint old curtains and hang them.
Method 2 of 4: Be a Flawless Host
Step 1. Welcome your friends by showing you where to hang their coats and store their belongings
If you have a norm regarding shoes, tell them where to put them. Warn them about the presence of any pets. Offer drinks and make them feel comfortable, planning activities while you wait for them all to arrive.
Step 2. The things you can do at a sleepover are endless
Be flexible in your choice while also thinking about the tastes of others:
- Manicure. Turn on the stereo, take out the nail polishes and paint each other's nails.
- Pretend it's a special day by creating the party theme on the fly and giving it a name.
- Put on your make-up and take pictures: in the end, choose the most beautiful ones. Or, you could wear your makeup blindfolded.
- Make a movie or music video.
- Sleep outside: pitch your tents in the garden, as if you were camping. It's a great way to beat boredom.
- Play MasterChef. Take some foods and distribute them in different boxes, without communicating their contents to the participants. Cook and then eat what you have prepared.
- Talk about guys but make a pact: the secrets will remain between you.
- Have a joke contest. After 10pm, tell everyone to stop eating sugars and drinking caffeinated drinks. The first person to fall asleep will be the victim of a joke from the others. Make sure they all agree.
- Eat junk and drink coffee; buy popcorn, chips, cookies, gummy candies, chocolate, etc. Ask your friends if they have food allergies. If you can't afford to buy many things, agree that each one contributes something. In case you organize the party a couple of months in advance, save.
- Watch movies. Can't you rent them? Search for them on the internet or take a look at your collection. Go for a romantic comedy, but if your friends aren't in the mood, you can choose a thriller or horror. But first, make sure there aren't any girls who are too sensitive to violence.
-
Insert some games:
- "Ask a question": each one writes about ten questions, such as "who will be the first to get married?". And all the others will answer on a note.
- "Truth or Dare?".
- "Names, things, cities" or Sardines.
- Assassin or Ghost Catcher.
- Get a deck of cards or a party game. Ask your friends to bring some.
- Electronic games, such as those on the Wii, PlayStation or Xbox. If you don't have remotes for all of them, play in turns, with no exclusions.
- Tell each other secrets and ghost stories, which you can also read from a book.
- Grab an old white pillow case to write and draw with permanent colors.
- Use your computer to update your Facebook status, view photos, etc.
- Ballads. You can turn on the radio, play your favorite CDs, search for songs on Grooveshark or connect the iPod to a couple of speakers.
- Make phone jokes but don't call anyone late at night, especially if they are strangers. Opt for those friends who know how to play jokes.
- Read teen or gossip magazines.
- Take photos to post on Facebook and other social networks.
- Put on a fashion show. Ask your friends to bring their trendiest clothes and create some outfits.
Step 3. Eat in between activities
For dinner, order a pizza.
Have a good dinner and leave the junk food for the night
Step 4. Get ready for bed
All your guests will need to have enough sleeping space. Those who can't fall asleep shouldn't bother the others.
Method 3 of 4: Time to Get Up
Step 1. Prepare breakfast for everyone
Ask your parents for help. You could propose a simple bowl of cereal or milk and cookies or pancakes.
Step 2. If your friends are stopping for another day, indulge in activities that you weren't able to do the night before
Step 3. Have dinner and continue with your sleepover
Method 4 of 4: The Last Morning
Step 1. Serve everyone breakfast
Step 2. Have a chat while you wait for the parents to arrive
Step 3. Thank your guests
Advice
- Try to be in a good mood before the guests arrive. Don't get nervous about nonsense.
- Avoid fighting, or you'll ruin everyone's evening!
- Make sure they are all comfortable and have enough food and drink.
- Get ready for midnight forays into the kitchen! Buy all the food you need.
- Ask your parents to keep your younger brothers or sisters at bay.
- You should invite girls who are around your age.
- Organize the sleepover for a weekend or vacation.
- Invite people you like and get along well with each other; also, your parents should approve them. In fact, you need to be sure that they will respect your home and your belongings.
- Make no noise: your parents may no longer give you permission to host your friends for the night. Don't be rude to girls - let them know that your parents will have to wake up early the next morning.
- Have fun!
- If anyone feels homesick, console them.
- Before your guests arrive, put on some music and make a drink.
- Talk about your schedule before the sleepover so you can have everything you need.
- If someone is tired, let them sleep without playing tricks on them, or they will never come back to your house!
- All must be included. Don't invite too many people for this reason as well.
- If your bedroom is small and your parents don't want you to have a party in the living room, rent a camping tent, especially if the weather is nice. This way you can stay up late without disturbing your family.
- Turn off the lights as soon as someone says they want to sleep.
- If you want to stay awake until dawn, forget your watch and switch between activities. Even gossip will keep you alert!
- Don't talk about the sleepover at school in front of uninvited girls - you could hurt them.
Warnings
- Do not insult your guests, not even those you had to invite because they were obliged by yours.
- The secrets that emerged during the sleepover must remain with you.
- If you invite a girl who doesn't talk much, be sure to also call a friend she feels comfortable with.
- Don't make too much clutter, or it will be difficult to clean up.
- The activities must respect everyone's tastes and involve each guest. Ask each other for their opinion so as not to seem like a bad guest.
- Charge the camera.
- Some of your friends may not be allowed to stay overnight.
- Don't invite girls to sow discord - your goal is to have fun.
- Don't tell horror stories before bed, unless you're all reckless. If you are easily influenced, watch a comedy after a scary movie. Respect those more sensitive girls.
- Don't command! It's your home, but allow guests to have a carefree fun.
- If you're planning on falling asleep at a certain time, don't overdo the caffeine.
- If you play Truth or Dare, don't force anyone to do or say something they don't want to. Respect everyone's privacy.
- Remember to show where the bathroom is and put a flashlight at everyone's disposal.
- If you've invited a guest who is a little younger than you, don't make fun of her if she has to pee in bed or be afraid of the dark. Lend her clean clothes, change the sheets, and let her sleep with you.
- Don't talk about the party with people you haven't invited - they might feel left out.
- If your guests have to leave the next morning, don't be too late.
- Don't forget to invite girls who get along well with each other.
- Don't shout, or you will annoy your parents and neighbors.
- Warn your parents about the more exuberant guests.
- Inviting many people has pros and cons; you could have more fun but also run the risk of excluding someone. Ask your parents how many people you can call.
