Do you want to spend a memorable night with your friends? Try a sleepover! It will be fun, and if you do it right, the next time you organize another, everyone will be begging you to do it in your home.
Steps
Step 1. First of all, you need to decide who to invite
Try to limit to 2-6 guests so that you have enough people to enjoy, but not too many that you run the risk of losing control, not to mention that you still need to have enough space to accommodate them. Don't be angry if the people you invited can't come; prepare a reserve list to be ready for any eventuality. Someone could join the party, even if they don't stay asleep.
Step 2. Remember to write the date, start time and place of your party, specifying if and by when confirmation is appreciated
Give your guests enough time to respond, invite them well in advance.
Step 3. Decide in which room you will sleep
Will it be your bedroom? Or rather a spacious living room, to be decorated according to the theme of the party? Decide everything in advance, so you can have time to prepare the decorations.
Step 4. Camping on the floor on inflatable mattresses and beds can be fun
Make sure there is enough space for everyone, as well as enough blankets and pillows. If you are too many and you don't have enough, you can ask your guests to bring some sleeping bags. Arrange the mattresses in such a way that no one risks hitting others by moving around in your sleep. If it's summer and it's hot, you could even camp out in the garden or in the yard!
Step 5. If you don't have a TV, it's a good idea to get one, even a small one
Even if you weren't interested in the programs, it can make you sleepy and is a great way to fall asleep at some point.
Step 6. You will need supplies
Stock up on popcorn, candies and various sweets, fizzy drinks, pretzels, various fruit juices and fresh water.
Step 7. Make sure you go to sleep early the night before your sleepover so you don't get tired in the middle of the party
Step 8. When your guests arrive you will need to welcome them with courtesy and introduce them to the house, if they don't know it yet
In particular, show them where you will sleep and the way to get to your parents' bathroom and bedroom.
Step 9. Watching a scary movie or telling scary stories can add a pinch of adrenaline to the night, but if that's too much for someone, turn on the lights and play some fun games
Step 10. If you fall asleep around midnight, it's a good time to go to sleep
But the maximum limit is two in the morning: you don't need to stay up all night!
Step 11. Don't make it difficult for food
You can order a pizza and eat popcorn! They are both great for a sleepover.
Step 12. When you are ready to go to sleep, make sure that bowls of candy and popcorn are not left near the beds, so that you do not risk falling on them as you move in your sleep
It is not pleasant…
Step 13. If you wake up early the next morning, go back to sleep or do something without waking others
You've all gone to bed late and your guests may be tired and want to sleep more. Set a time with your parents when they can come and wake you up.
Step 14. Late in the morning you can wake up those who have not yet got up:
it's time to remove the curtains! It will probably be fun to find out how long you have slept!
Step 15. If it's a nice day, go out and play in the garden or park
You will surely still be sleepy after the party - it will be a good way to recover.
Step 16. If you leave home, come back before the parents come to pick up your friends
Greet everyone politely and maybe invite them to have a cup of tea before leaving.
Step 17. Thank everyone for their participation and for the gifts, in case it was your birthday
Try to impress your guests and their parents.
Step 18. Clean and tidy up
It was your party, so why on earth should your parents do it. Take all dishes and bowls to the kitchen, wash them or put them in the dishwasher. Put the sheets and blankets in the basket of dirty clothes, deflate the inflatable beds, fold them and put them away. Lay the mattresses against the wall to leave space in the living room or bedroom. If you are responsible, your parents are likely to allow you to have sleepovers more often!
Advice
- Make sure everyone is having a good time, because they sure won't tell you explicitly. If they seem bored or annoyed, change your game or activity.
- Find out first what foods your friends like or dislike. It's simple: don't follow the tastes of one person, but offer many alternatives to please everyone.
- Go to sleep at some point! But first have fun styling your hair and putting on your make-up blindfolded. Avoid games that can be dangerous.
- If your party is themed, let your guests know well in advance so they can get the costumes.
Warnings
- Beware of allergies and intolerances. Learn about your guests' dietary needs first and keep foods they can't eat away from others.
- If any of your guests need to have an inhaler or EpiPen with them at all times, make sure they haven't forgotten them.
