There are many occasions when it is appropriate to send flowers to someone to express your feelings. Here's what you need to know to be able to order them in person or over the phone.
Steps
Step 1. Before calling the florist put together all the necessary information
Step 2. Make sure they are handy FIRST
Step 3. You will need the full name and address of the person you want to send them to
Step 4. Check that there are no wrong letters in the name or address
Step 5. Check the phone number of the person who is to receive them
Step 6. Make sure they are home at the time you intend to have them delivered
Step 7. Have your credit card ready
Step 8. Know what you mean on the card
Step 9. Think about the occasion, who gets the flowers and how much you want to spend
Step 10. You would be surprised how much the flowers cost
Step 11. Call the florist and ask what the minimum for a delivery is
Step 12. There will often be a delivery charge depending on how far the florist has to go
Step 13. If you call a florist but the flowers are to be sent through a second florist, you will have to pay for the service
Step 14. Find a florist
If there is a local shop that you serve you can call them or go in person. If you are sending the flowers far away, you can ask the local florist to send a telegram or call a toll-free number to place the order. Most florist chains have a toll-free number for this reason: you can spend more on dialing while saving on the telegram.
Step 15. When you send flowers remotely, the store receiving the order takes a percentage of the total cost of the order they receive
For example: if you send flowers for 50 euros, the recipient will probably only have 40 worth of flowers.
Step 16. Inform the florist
Talk to him about the occasion, who receives them and what kind of flowers you had in mind, then decide on the cost and ask if taxes are included and if there are any other costs.
Step 17. Try to make a deal
The florist will tell you what kind of arrangement he will create, with which flowers and how much the delivery costs. If there is something particular you want to include, it's time to say it. Describe what you had in mind using words like "cheeky, colorful, monotonous, delicate, tropical". If that sounds important to you, ask for a color scheme. If you are sending the composition to a specific person, describe it to him physically and emotionally. Is he a classic, crazy guy, both? What colors do you like to wear?
Step 18. Confirm the details
Make sure the order is exactly how you want it, that the expense list matches. If you pay over the phone, you will need a credit card.
Advice
- If there is an image of the flowers on the site or if you have seen a composition of your taste in the shop, mention it. If you've seen it in a magazine or elsewhere, explain it and ask if it's possible to recreate it.
- Florists are creative and have great imaginations. Find one that suits your tastes or those of those who are to receive the flowers, so you can be sure of the success of your surprise. A florist who specializes in flower pom-poms may not have many tropical plants such as orchids and strelitzia.
- Be flexible. There are different flowers in every season, so ask what's available. Sometimes they have flowers specially made for compositions. Seasonal flowers usually cost less.
- Florists generally have ideas that fit the situation. Flowers for a funeral are different from those to send to a girl.
- Consider a potted plant. They usually last longer and the cost is better amortized.
