This article explains how to play a DVD or Blu-Ray using an Xbox One. Before you can watch a movie stored on DVD or Blu-Ray using your Xbox One, you will need to install the "Blu-Ray Player" app.
Steps
Step 1. Press the "Xbox" button to access the console home
This is the circular button located in the center of the game controller and featuring the Xbox logo. This will bring up the console home screen.
Step 2. Select the Store option
It is the last tab visible at the top of the Home screen. Use the controller bumpers to select the indicated tab, then press the A button to open it.
Step 3. Select the Search item
It features a magnifying glass icon and is located at the top of the screen.
Step 4. Type Blu-ray keyword into the search bar
Use the controller to select letters from the virtual keyboard that appears on the screen.
Step 5. Press the "Menu" button on the controller
It is characterized by three parallel horizontal lines. It is located to the right of the controller's "Xbox" button. The search results list will be displayed which will contain all applications that match the criteria you are looking for.
Step 6. Select the "Blu-Ray Player" app
It features a blue icon with the "Blu-Ray Disc" logo inside.
Step 7. Choose the Install option
It is positioned under the "Blu-Ray Disc" logo on the specific page of the application in question. The "Blu-Ray Player" program will be installed on the Xbox One which will then be able to play any movie stored on DVD or Blu-Ray.
Step 8. Insert the disc to be played into the Xbox One's optical drive
You will need to insert the disc inside the small black slot that runs along the left side of the console's front side. The "Blu-Ray Player" app will start and playback of the DVD or Blu-Ray in the console player will start automatically.
