Steps
Step 1. Seek inspiration
Look at the photos of the various styles and choose the length of the blonde layer. You could stop at the crown or dye the area of hair that covers the entire head.
Step 2. Bleach the upper part of the hair
Depending on whether you have dyed or natural, it may take up to three steps. Since the bleaching is very aggressive, avoid washing your hair for a few days, the excess oil will prevent the hair from being excessively damaged.
- Buy a bleaching kit from a cosmetic store. The higher the number on the package, the stronger it will be. 20 volumes will be enough for those with dark blond or medium / light brown hair, while for those with darker hair a 40-volume bleach is recommended.
- Use a fine-toothed comb to divide your hair. Line up from one ear to the other, at the height you want. Tie your hair underneath.
- Apply the bleach. Use gloves to protect your hands and use a paint brush.
- Set the timer. You could ruin your hair if you leave the bleach on for too long, set the timer according to the instructions in the kit.
- Rinse your hair in the shower using the coldest water you can; hot water tends to make the hair dull.
Step 3. Bleach your hair with a highlighter (optional)
If you want an ultra-platinum finish or a whitish blonde, you will need a purple highlight on the bleached section of your hair. You can find it in a cosmetics store.

Step 4. Dye your hair black towards the ends
Dyeing the hair on the back of the head may be more difficult than on the front, so consider getting someone to help you. The tint can be purchased at a beauty shop or supermarket.
- Use a fine-toothed comb to divide the hair along the parting you made to bleach the upper hair.
- Tie the bleached part firmly over your head and cover it with a shower cap. Make sure the edges of the cap cover the line between the two sections.
- Start applying the black dye. Start from the roots of the hair and be extremely careful not to apply it to the bleached part. Get help from a friend.
- Rinse the dye. Hold the shower cap while you rinse off the black dye. Wash your hair with cold water if you can, so the dye lasts longer.
Step 5. Take care of your hair
The coloring treatment is very aggressive, especially the discoloration. Compensate for damage by using a specific shampoo and conditioner for colored and treated hair. Avoid using a hair dryer or straightener when you can.

- You can also bleach the hair at the bottom and dye the top black.
- Touch up regrowth every 6-8 weeks.
