Does the Blindfolded Goddess always smile at you? Instead of trying your luck in a casino, why not try playing war? War is a game of chance known all over the world. Save some money and sit down at a table with a friend or two and declare war on them! Here's how to play.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Prepare for War
Step 1. Know the purpose of the game
The goal is to win all the cards. War is usually played between two people, but it is also possible to play in 4. The value of the war cards goes from Ace to 2. No card beats the Ace and the 2 always loses.
Step 2. Shuffle the cards
You should use a normal 52-card deck. Try to mix them up as much as possible, especially if it's a new deck.
Step 3. Deal the cards
Give each player one card each until all are dealt. If you are playing 2, you should both have 26. Neither player should look at their cards.
If you are playing with 3 or 4 players, follow the same procedure. Give each player the same number of cards. In three, each player should have 17 cards. In four, each player should have 13
Method 2 of 3: Play War
Step 1. Place the cards face down on the table
Players cannot watch them. Your opponent shouldn't even see yours. You can also fan them out in front of you.
Step 2. Count to three and then flip a card
Each player must do this at the same time. You should only turn over the top card of your deck.
Step 3. Compare the cards to see which is the highest
The player with the highest card wins the turn and collects both cards and adds them to his hand.
Step 4. When the flipped cards have the same value we enter the war
For example, if you and your opponent roll a 6, you have to make a war. To do this, each player will have to put three more cards face up already on the table. Turn over the fourth card as if it were a normal game turn. Whoever has the highest card will win all 10 cards up for grabs. If a player does not have enough cards to give away, he will have to turn over the last card he has left.
If you are playing with three or four players: If two or more players reveal the same card, each player is giving away only one card in the war. Each player then turns over the next card as they would in a normal game turn. The player with the highest card wins. If another tie occurs, the war continues
Step 5. Play until one person wins all the cards in the deck
It can take some time, because war is a game of luck, but when you don't know what to do, it's a great pastime.
Method 3 of 3: War Variants
Step 1. Add the two wild cards
Use them as the highest cards in the deck. They can beat any other card and add another variable to the game.
Step 2. Play as they do in Romania
Război is the Romanian version of Guerra. In Război, the number of cards up for grabs in a war is determined by the value of the card that started the war.
Example: if both players show a 6, each player will have to put 5 cards face up already during the war, and turn over the sixth. All face cards are worth 10, and consequently each player will have to turn nine cards during the war and turn the tenth
Step 3. Play with only half the deck for a shorter variant of warfare
Take only two copies of each card (two aces, two kings, two threes, etc.) and separate them from the others in the deck. Shuffle these 36 cards and play a game with them. The game will end much faster.
Step 4. Establish specific card rules
For example, choose a wild card at the start of the game.
Example: You establish that the 2 of hearts and the 3 of diamonds are unbeatable cards. Even the ace can't beat a mad
Step 5. Play 52 Card War
Line up each of the 36 cards directly in front of your opponent's. Turn over each card one at a time, simultaneously with the opponent. Collect the pairs of cards you have won and repeat. Play until one player wins all the cards.
