This article explains how to activate the dark theme on Telegram, in order to display white text on a black background. This will give you a more pleasant view when you use the device at night.
Steps
Step 1. Open Telegram on Android
The app icon looks like a white paper airplane in a blue circle. You can find it in the app menu.
Step 2. Tap the three horizontal lines icon
This button is located in the upper left corner on the chat list. Opens the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
If Telegram opens a specific conversation, tap the button to go back and reopen the chat list
Step 3. Tap Settings on the left panel
Look for and tap on "Settings", which is next to the gray gear symbol at the bottom of the navigation menu. The application settings and preferences will open on a new page.
Step 4. Scroll down and tap Theme
This option is found in the section titled "Settings" in the "Settings and Preferences" menu. The list of available themes will open.
Step 5. Select Dark in the "Theme" menu
The dark theme will be activated and you will return to the previous page. From now on on Telegram you will see white text on a black background in all conversations, groups and menus.
