You don't necessarily have to have a makeup artist at your disposal to achieve the much-needed gradient look. Read this article and find out step by step how to make the ideal makeup for a night out with friends.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Prepare the Face
Step 1. Wash your face and dry it
Use a makeup remover and cotton pads to remove all traces of makeup, dirt and grease from your skin.
Apply a small amount of moisturizer which will help your makeup last longer
Step 2. Apply your usual foundation and / or concealer
Do this before starting eye makeup and make sure you leave a thin layer of foundation on your eyelids as well.
Method 2 of 2: Create the Gradient Look
Step 1. First apply a dark gray or black cream eyeshadow
Use your fingers or an eyeshadow brush and distribute the product on the eyelid, making sure to cover the area from the base of the lashes to the crease of the eye.
The cream eyeshadow will serve as a base and will help the powder eyeshadow set better
Step 2. Cover the cream eyeshadow with powder eyeshadow of the same color
Choose one in black, dark gray or gray-blue and dab the area with a brush, making gentle movements.
Use an eyeshadow brush possibly with real bristles. If you don't have a brush, use your index finger
Step 3. Use a blending brush to blend the eyeshadow into the crease of the eye
Gradient brushes have finer bristles than regular eyeshadow brushes and are designed to create a fade effect.
Step 4. Enhance your brows
Use an eyeshadow brush or index finger and apply a gold or nude eyeshadow just below the browbone. You could also apply glitter eyeshadow on the inner corners of the eyes for a glowing effect.
Step 5. Use a black, dark blue or dark gray eyeliner
Apply it to the upper eyelid, starting from the inside up to the outer corner of the eye.
Step 6. Finish the makeup with mascara
Apply 2-3 coats of black or gray mascara to the upper lashes. For a more intense look, apply mascara to the lower lashes as well, but only to the outer corners.
Step 7. Finished
Advice
- Always wash your hands before you start wearing makeup.
- A natural lipstick should be associated with shaded makeup. Try a coral, peach, or light pink lip gloss or lipstick. In short, lipsticks with a color similar to that of your lips, so as not to weigh down the makeup.
