Here's an easy way to draw a basketball. Start with a basic circle and keep adding details step by step. For color and texture use a photo as a guide. You can decide whether to add trademarks or designs.
Steps
Step 1. Draw a circle
Use a stencil, protractor, can, or compass for greater accuracy.
Step 2. Draw a horizontal and a vertical line
If you want to accentuate the perspective, make them off-center and arched. Draw two curves, one on each side of the intersection of the two lines. They should be equally distant from the intersection.
Step 3. Add the color and everything you want
If you want to shade the ball to make it look like a sphere, choose a lighter area and add shadows on the opposite side to simulate depth. The color should gradually darken as it approaches the shaded area, where it will become very dark.
Step 4. For three extra points, try drawing a basket, backboard or something else in the background
Advice
- To make a perfect circle, you can use a compass or trace the outline of a circular object, such as a cup.
- It would be better if you looked at how a basketball is made in real life, or in photos.
- If you want to have other things in the drawing, first think about how to organize the spaces on the paper.
- A regulation basketball has a circumference of 75 cm, or a diameter of 23 cm. The basket instead has a diameter of 45 cm.
