Do your friends all get higher scores than you in Subway Surfers? Turn the situation around by taking your play style to the next level. With the right tips and a few tricks, you'll beat their scores in no time.
Steps
Step 1. Increase your multiplier
The best way to get a higher score faster is to increase the multiplier. When you first start playing, your multiplier will be set to x1. Each time you complete a series of missions, you will level up and your multiplier will permanently increase by 1, up to x30. This means that your score will be 30 times what it normally would be.
- Missions include collecting a specific number of coins, jumping a certain number of times, collecting specific boosts, and more. You can see your active missions by tapping the Missions button at the top of the main menu.
- If there is a mission that you can't do for any reason, you can skip it in the shop for a certain number of coins, depending on what level you are on. Your multiplier will still increase normally if it is the last mission you need to level up.
Step 2. Update your power-ups
The Coin Magnet, Jetpack and x2 Multiplier are the most powerful resources at your disposal to increase your score. The Magnet will collect all the coins you encounter, even if they are not in your lane. The Jetpack will launch you over the path, where you will be free to collect coins without worry. The x2 Multiplier will double your current multiplier, up to a maximum of x60.
- You can improve these power-ups by spending the coins you earn in racing. Increasing the effectiveness of these boosts can greatly increase the amount of coins you earn when using them.
- Upgrade the Magnet and Jetpack first. This will help you in the early stages of the game as you earn coins to unlock more upgrades and complete missions. Once the multiplier is close to x30, start updating the x2 Multiplier boost. This will really start to improve your scores significantly.
Step 3. Stock up on hoverboards
These can be bought with coins or won in prize boxes. Hoverboards last 30 seconds, but their real power lies in absorbing a blow: if you run into an obstacle while on a hoverboard, your ride won't end. Instead you will go back to running on foot, continuing your run and increasing your score. You should always have a good supply of hoverboards to use in an emergency when you can't avoid hitting something.
- Getting ahead in the race is one of the two main ways to earn points. The hoverboards ensure you continue the race and increase your score.
- Aim for 600 to 900+ hoverboards. Use them when your character is already running too fast for you to be able to handle it.
Step 4. Collect the keys
Keys are a currency that allows you to keep running when you hit an object. Keys can be found along the way, in mystery boxes or in weekly missions. You can also buy them for real money. Having a good supply of keys can help you stay on a good run for a long time.
Use the keys only when you hit an obstacle without a hoverboard, with a score of at least 500k
Step 5. Get lots of coins
It may seem obvious, but it is never stressed enough. To get a really high score you need to get as many coins as possible. This means using your power-ups to their maximum effectiveness, performing perfect runs and lane changes, and not losing the timing of your jumps.
Step 6. Practice often
Since every run is different, you can't just memorize the level and do the same thing over and over until you get the highest score. You need to practice so that you notice repeating patterns and react in time. You probably won't get a very high score in the beginning, but after a few weeks of practice you will start getting closer and closer to the mirage of a million points total. Keep it up!
Advice
- Use the Score Booster and Advantage at the start of the run. If you don't, you will no longer be able to activate them during the game.
- Save the coins, because this way you will be able to get faster hoverboards with different powers. This way you will have a better chance of getting a high score.
- Collect keys and hoverboards. They will help you get higher scores.
- You may not need to buy hoverboards. You will gain a lot from the mystery boxes of the daily challenge and from the ones you will find during the races.
- Try to complete the daily challenges. If you complete the daily word, you will be rewarded with a white mystery box. You can be rewarded with far more coins than you would normally earn when you don't complete any challenges. The box can also contain materials needed to unlock a new character or they can simply give you free gifts, such as trophies and hoverboards.
- Remember that after you get to the fifth daily challenge, you keep getting the best reward until you miss a day.
- While you have a Magnet while playing, activate a hoverboard to get as many coins as possible.
- Getting a high score can take time, so a lot of patience will be required.
- Don't look at your score while you are playing, it will distract you from the game. If you have finally beaten your record, you will be notified on your mobile device screen when the race is finished.
- Don't pause the game while a train is in front of you. When you come back to the game you won't have enough time to move.
- You may even find tokens, although they are rare. If you want to collect them all, make sure you play regularly. You have a limited time to collect them.
