Adding eye-catching transitions to individual PowerPoint slides can enhance your presentation, so you can keep the listener's attention alive. Step 1. Launch Microsoft's PowerPoint application
Step 2. Open the PowerPoint presentation you want to work with
If you're creating a new presentation, save it with a descriptive name.
Step 3. Select the slide you want to add a text transition to by clicking it in the left panel
Step 4. Decide what kind of animation you want to add by reviewing the available choices
In PowerPoint 2003, you can find animations under the Presentation menu.
In PowerPoint 2007 and 2010, click the Animations tab to add effects.
Step 5. Click inside the text box of the slide you are working on and then click the "Add animation" drop box
Step 6. Choose your animation by selecting the "By first level paragraphs" option

You can also choose a custom effect. Click the Custom item in the drop-down menu and a Custom Animation window will be launched.
Choose to modify the Entry, Emphasis, Exit and Animation Paths of the first level paragraphs. Select the effect you want to apply from the list of Standard, Delicate, Moderate or Fun animations.
You can click on each effect as you add them to see and change more options, such as duration and the ability to change on other paragraph layers.
Step 7. Check your selections by clicking "Play" in the Slide Show menu
