This article shows you how to outline text within a Microsoft Word document.
Steps
Step 1. Create a new Microsoft Word document or open an existing one
Start the program by double clicking on the blue and white icon in the shape of " W", enter the menu File and follow these instructions:
- Choose the option New document to create a new Word document;
- Choose the option You open… to load an existing file.
Step 2. Select the portion of text you want to add an outline to
Step 3. Press the "Text Effects" button
It features an icon in the shape of TO white outlined in blue, placed inside the "Font" group of the "Home" tab of the Word ribbon.
Step 4. Choose the Outline option
Step 5. Customize the stroke of the outline by following these instructions:
- Choose the color to use;
- Access the drop-down menu Thickness to set the thickness of the contour line;
- Use the drop-down menu Hatch to choose the style of the contour line;
- Select the option Automatic to use the default settings.
