The Four Cantons Game can be fun for children and adults alike, but many remember it from school years. It simply consists of throwing the ball at someone else so that they can throw it back at you. So it's like football, but played with your hands.
Steps
Step 1. Confirm the rules
Some people think that something is legitimate, but it is not. You have to determine exactly where you can't drop the ball, otherwise you are out.
Step 2. Each of the players must stand in a square
Step 3. Note that the minimum number of players available must be 4
Step 4. Serve the ball by bouncing it once in your square
Then hit it towards the first square. Make sure the ball is inside the other square and not on or off any of the lines. You can't miss out on the "service".
Step 5. Push the ball back
Receivers must push the ball back to some other player.
Step 6. Continue playing until one of the players hits the ball outside the square or the ball bounces twice inside their square
This causes the player to lose. All the other players act as judges to determine if the ball has hit a line and there is a discrepancy between who throws and who has received.
Step 7. Have the player who was eliminated move to the lowest level (joker) unless there is a line of people waiting to play, then the person who has exited goes to the back of the line and the next person enter the joker square
When a player is eliminated, all the others move forward one square.
Advice
- Some people play by different rules, like in Popcorn, where, instead of throwing the ball directly at someone, you can throw it with your hands and hit it or, if your ball is almost out of the square, you can catch it and throw it in the air. There is also Cherry Bomb, where you throw the ball in the air, jump, and then hit it towards the ground. A variation is that a person throws the ball out of a square and if the person who was thrown the cherry bomb does not catch it within ten seconds, he is out. And Lobster, where you can only make lobs. A lob is when you hit the ball so that it lands in the opponent's square without bouncing into your square first. Make sure you are able to play Lobster before using those rules. Some people create rules just to eliminate multiple players, such as hitting the ball as it bounces off another person's square and that person hasn't hit it yet, it is considered a "steal" and that person goes back to the starting line.
- Even if there is no winner in the four canton game, the person who stays in the first position the longest is usually considered the champion.
- There are several ways to serve the ball, like in Skyscraper, where you bounce the ball on the ground with a lot of force so that it bounces very high and the opponent cannot catch it easily.
- If any of the other players start teaming up, you have no chance to face them. Start teaming up with someone else and work together if necessary. Throwing Cherry bombs is usually against the rules, but there are two ways to play with the rules or against them.
- Draw and number the squares with sidewalk chalk and / or duct tape to help everyone understand where each location is and to establish boundaries.
- The size of the squares doesn't matter much, but usually the size is 1.5 x 1.5 meters. Obviously larger squares make it more difficult to hit the ball back and forth, but smaller squares offer a small surface to stand and receive the ball.
- Instead of fighting for first position, try playing Rock, Paper and Scissor.
