Do you want to prepare a tasty but at the same time quick and easy dessert? Try the chocolate balls, a very popular recipe in Sweden that does not require the use of the oven.
Ingrediants
- 100 g of butter at room temperature
- 80 g of sugar (preferably white, but any type of sugar will do)
- 100 g of rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla powder
- American coffee
- Powdered sugar, coconut powder, or crumbled peanuts
Steps
Step 1. Prepare the American style coffee and let it cool before using it
Step 2. Put the butter, sugar, oat flakes, cocoa and vanilla powder in a bowl
Step 3. Check that the coffee has cooled and pour 2 tablespoons (30 ml) into the bowl
Step 4. Work the ingredients with your hands until you get a kind of dough
There should be no lumps of butter left after the procedure is complete.
Step 5. Take a piece of dough and roll it into a ball
Repeat with the rest of the dough, making sure the balls are the same size. You can also try making different shapes.
Step 6. Roll the balls in coconut powder, powdered or pearl sugar, or crumbled peanuts (you can also use other:
give free rein to your imagination).
Step 7. Put the balls in the fridge for a few hours or until they have hardened, but it is not necessary if you prefer them soft and warm
Try both versions and choose the one you prefer!
Step 8. Now you can have a feast of chocolate balls
Advice
- If you can't make coffee, it's not necessary.
- Cut the butter into smaller pieces for easier mixing.
- If you don't have cocoa, use another type of chocolate powder, or grate it.
- Do not put the butter in the microwave, otherwise the balls will be watery, difficult to handle and shape.
