Are you having trouble getting dressed in the morning or not sure how to wear that new trendy skirt you just bought? Have you always wondered which colors are perfect for you? Dressing well will lead others to see you as more competent, capable and pretty and will help you feel more confident.
Steps
Step 1. Buy the right clothes for you
When shopping, always think about how those colors and patterns will look on you. A blouse that looks nice when on the hanger may make you look sturdier if the fabric is very thick.
-
Buy the right sizes.
You may find a pair of jeans that only cost 20 euros, but if the size is wrong, you will never wear them. Don't throw money away just because something is cheap. Don't buy clothes that are too long, too short, baggy or tight. This means always trying on clothes before buying them.
-
Get your clothes fixed by a seamstress.
The right size is essential when you want to dress well. A jacket or a pair of jeans is the perfect purchase, but if they're too loose or too long, they won't be anymore. Going to a seamstress to have those clothes adjusted will make you look even more fashionable, even more than that "trendy" item of clothing.
Step 2. Buy fun colors
Black and neutral colors don't attract attention, bright colors and pastel ones do. If your legs aren't as skinny as you'd like, don't go for a bright red pair of pants, no matter how fabulous they are. If, on the other hand, you love how thin your arms look, buy a bright blue long-sleeved shirt. Remember: the best color in the world is the one that looks good on you.
Browse magazines like Vogue, Elle, InStyle etc. They will set the color of the season. Try incorporating that color into your style to be on trend. Don't buy a yellow dress, for example, because there aren't many times you'll be able to wear it. Instead, try to buy some yellow ballet flats or a yellow belt that you can wear multiple times
Step 3. Buy "basic" clothing
Half of your wardrobe should consist of solid-colored basics. A pair of jeans will last a long time, a watch will last forever and a black dress is a timeless classic. Investing in these garments will pay off in a long time. Although a red dress is fun and festive, you are unlikely to wear it many times. So instead of looking at the price on the tag think of it like this: its time-consuming price. A dress worn twice might cost just 50 euros, but a jeans that costs 150 worn once a week for three years will cost you less in terms of the life of the garment.
Basic clothing includes black clothes, skinny jeans, high heels, a beige coat, a black jacket, solid color shirts, ballet flats, brown boots, a tight pencil skirt, etc
Step 4. Buy fun and trendy clothes
These are garments like red jeans, which you can then use to spice up your wardrobe. If you find that the cut and color of the jeans suits you, buy them. Owning a fashionable garment will allow you to show everyone that you know about fashion and will also allow you to have fun. Again, though, fads are just that: MODE. Something might be trendy, but if it doesn't look good, don't waste your money.
-
Try to buy inexpensive but trendy items like necklaces, witty t-shirts, etc. that you won't feel guilty about once they go out of style.
Step 5. Put an outfit together
Always keeping in mind cuts and colors, start with the basics and put together a suit. Once I found it, I started adding accessories. As Coco Chanel said: "Get dressed and then, just before going out, look at the mirror and take something off". Remember that simplicity is best. A cute belt, cocktail ring, or pearl necklace might be all you need.
-
Create the base.
If you're opting for a quirky pair of coral-colored pants, chances are you want to wear something more neutral on top, like a plain white tee.
-
Give depth to your outfit.
Put on a jacket or cardigan. Insist on neutral colors to balance the top and bottom, so something like a navy blue jacket or beige cardigan will do.
-
Find the right accessories.
For a bold look, add large gold jewelry. For a more "intellectual" look, add a headband and pearl earrings.
-
Put on your shoes.
Wear heels to gain a few extra inches in height, boots for a more casual look or flats for a more feminine look.
Step 6. Put your makeup on and style your hair every day
The first thing a person will notice about you is your hair and makeup. If you take care of it and put some effort into it every morning before you go out, even the most casual look of all will be the most elegant. Again, the rule of thumb is to choose the one that suits you best. So, opt for a light purple that stands out for your green eyes, rather than that bright pink shade you saw in the latest issue of Vogue.
Step 7. Remember to be confident
It is the most important thing for a woman. Always smile, keep your head up and look ahead when you walk.
Advice
- Try not to always wear the same color. If you find a color that looks good on you, that's great. But maybe you want to keep that color for special occasions like a date or a party. Try to vary a little.
- Don't rely too much on fashions: they don't last more than one season and go straight to the next. Follow fashions only when it comes to accessories and combine them with your timeless pieces.
- Buying shoes is always a lot of fun, but if yours is on a tight budget, think about clothes first. Shoes can make you look taller or shorter, so they are perfect for completing an outfit.
- Dresses are very elegant in summer, so if you are looking for a cheerful and light look, a dress and a piece of jewelry are perfect. Dress according to the occasion - for example, a formal party: an elegant dress; a beach party: a light dress with a swimsuit underneath, shell-shaped jewelry and cute slippers, etc.
- If you want to wear two colors, such as purple and black, don't wear a purple shirt and scarf and then black jeans. Try wearing only black clothing and then add a purple scarf, an added color then, and then wear purple shoes to match. Separating colors is much better and doesn't even feel like a random match. Alternatively, you could try a purple shirt and black jeans with a black hat. In short, separate the colors!
