Dachshunds are nice little dogs, but they are also quite stubborn. It is not too difficult to teach them to toilet outside, but it does take some time and patience.
Steps
Step 1. When you take him / her out try to always tell him "Pee"
Even if it sounds silly to you, it is important: the dog will learn that that phrase is associated with his needs and will wag his tail when you say it and they really run away.
Step 2. Take him out every 1-2 hours or so
However, it depends on the age of your dog. If it is between 8 and 12 weeks, take it every hour. If it is larger, every 2.
Step 3. Give him at least 15 minutes when you are out
Unless your dog is always outside, try to walk him around at least 15 minutes at a time. If you are out with him, have him do the business and then take him home.
Step 4. Don't hit him
If by any chance he goes to the house, don't hurt him. They are very stubborn and if you beat them they will only learn that they will have to hide from you when they go to the toilet. As a result, they will begin to go to the toilet in some corner of the room or under the sofa or near the bed, and you may not even notice! If he does, just tell him "bad" and take him out right away.
Step 5. Make a note to write down how he is going with his needs
Stick it to the fridge and write the date and every time you take it out to do the business. This way you can check how many times it has been taken out. Thus, you can also decide whose turn it is to take him out. If it was you last time, now it's up to someone else!
Step 6. Give it some time
It takes a while to get them to learn - some dogs don't learn until they're one year old, and only if someone has taught them to. Follow these steps and it will still take as little time as possible.
