Were you styling your hair for a special event and accidentally burned your face with a curling iron? Treating the burn immediately is essential to prevent scar formation; read on to learn how.
Steps
Step 1. Act as soon as possible
Turn off the instrument immediately and apply cold water to the wound. Use only your hands first and then a wet towel. Leave the towel resting on the burn for 1-5 minutes until the burning sensation and pain disappear. This way the burn will be less severe.
Step 2. Apply a disinfectant
Make sure the product can be used for burns and apply it directly to the wound. If you don't have any disinfectants at home, buy one for the day.
Step 3. Finish curling your hair
However, be very careful not to touch the burn.
Step 4. Continue applying the disinfectant
Apply enough to cover the wound before bed, in the morning, and whenever you feel pain.
Step 5. Hide the burn
Until the wound is completely healed and smooth like the rest of the skin, avoid using concealers (which will give an unpleasant effect); use a primer foundation instead. The burn will look smoother and more even than the rest of the skin and therefore will be less visible.
Step 6. If there is a scar, apply Mederma cream
If you start using it immediately, the scar will disappear. Apply morning and evening until the scar disappears.
