If you love cocktails with a creamy texture and almost look like a dessert, White Russian could become one of your favorite drinks. Pour the Kahlua (Mexican coffee liqueur), vodka and cream into a cylindrical glass filled with ice. To maintain the chromatic effect of the individual layers, serve the White Russian immediately or, if you prefer, mix it to make it creamier. You can prepare large quantities in advance and serve it at a party or experiment with new combinations using Baileys, the famous Irish whiskey and cream liqueur. Decorate the White Russian with a maraschino cherry and enjoy your sweet and delicious cocktail.

Steps
Method 1 of 3: Make a White Russian
Step 1. Fill the glass with ice
Use a cylindrical glass that has a capacity of at least 150ml and fill it with ice cubes. If you want the cocktail to keep cold longer, chill the glass in the refrigerator.
If you don't have a glass of this shape and size, you can use a stemless wine glass
Step 2. Add the Kahlua, vodka and cream
Pour 30ml of Kahlua and 30ml of vodka into the glass, then slowly add the 30ml of cream.
You can also use whipping cream, but it's fatter than cream and is usually long-life, while cream is fresh
Suggestion:
for a lighter White Russian, use 15ml of cream and 15ml of whole milk.
Step 3. Mix the White Russian if desired
Some people want the milk cream layer to remain intact and visible on the surface, but if you prefer you can mix the cocktail to make each sip equally creamy.
Step 4. Decorate the glass and serve the White Russian
For a simple garnish, add a maraschino cherry and serve the drink immediately. For a more creative decoration you can use lightly sweetened whipped cream, a roasted marshmallow or a sprinkle of nutmeg.
Method 2 of 3: Prepare a Jug of White Russian
Step 1. Pour the Kahlua and vodka into a pitcher
Select a beautiful and functional carafe and pour 600ml of Kahlua into it. Add 600ml of vodka and mix to combine the two liqueurs.
Step 2. Chill the Kahlua and vodka mixture in the refrigerator
Cover the jug with cling film and refrigerate until it's time to serve the cocktail. As long as you don't add the cream as well, you can keep the mixture in the refrigerator for up to a whole week.
Step 3. Fill the glasses with ice when it's time to make the cocktail
The indicated doses allow you to prepare 20 White Russians, so make sure you have enough glasses. If you prefer, you can chill them in the refrigerator while you make the drink.
Step 4. Pour the Kahlua and vodka mixture and the milk cream separately into the glasses
For each cocktail, pour 60ml of the Kahlua and vodka mixture into the glass and then add 60ml of milk cream slowly pouring it over the liqueurs. Stir if you want to make the consistency and taste of the cocktail uniform.
In total, you will need 600 ml of milk cream to prepare 20 White Russians
Suggestion:
you can double the doses of the recipe to prepare 40 cocktails and a total of about 4 liters of White Russian.
Method 3 of 3: Making a White Russian with the Baileys
Step 1. Put ice in the glass
Use a cylindrical glass that has a capacity of at least 180ml and fill it with ice cubes. If you want the cocktail to keep cold longer, you can chill the glass in the refrigerator in advance.
Alternatively, you can use a stemless wine glass
Step 2. Pour the Baileys, vodka, milk and Kahlua into the glass
Use 45ml of classic or coffee whiskey cream, 15ml of vodka and 60ml of whole milk. If you want to accentuate the coffee taste, add 7ml of Kahlua as well.
Suggestion:
for a less caloric cocktail you can replace whole milk with skim milk.
Step 3. Stir the drink
Use a long bartender spoon (but you can also use a regular one) to mix the ingredients until well blended. Since Baileys is light and creamy, you won't be able to keep the layers separate like in a traditional White Russian.
Step 4. Decorate the glass and serve the cocktail immediately
For a simple decoration you can use a maraschino cherry or cinnamon stick. If you are feeling creative you can add a sprinkle of nutmeg, chocolate chips or a puff of whipped cream. Drink your White Russian now for the ultimate in taste.
Advice
- Try substituting rum or whiskey for vodka.
- Try replacing the cream with chocolate milk to make the White Russian look like a dessert.
