This article explains how to permanently delete an account on TikTok using an Android device, iPhone or iPad. Once the account is deleted, it will remain deactivated for 30 days, so that you can possibly reopen it should you have second thoughts. If you don't log in again within 30 days, all data and content associated with your account will be permanently removed from TikTok.
Steps
Step 1. Open TikTok on your mobile or tablet
The icon, which looks like a black and white musical note, can be found on the home screen (iPhone / iPad) or in the app drawer (Android).
- The account will remain deactivated for 30 days before being deleted from the TikTok servers. If you decide to reactivate it during this time, you will simply have to log in.
- If you decide to cancel your account you will lose access to all content posted on TikTok. You will not be able to receive a refund if you have made purchases in the application.
Step 2. Tap the profile icon
It represents the silhouette of a person and is located at the bottom right.
If you are not already signed in, you will be prompted to sign in now
Step 3. Tap the menu depicted by three dots •••
It is located at the top right.
Step 4. Tap Account Management
This option is at the top of the menu.
Step 5. Scroll down and tap Delete Account
This option appears at the bottom of the "Account Management" page. A confirmation page will open giving you some details about deleting the profile.
If you have created the account using a social network such as Twitter or Facebook you will need to tap "Verify and continue" to access the service in question before the confirmation page appears
Step 6. Tap the red Delete Account button
It is located at the bottom of the screen. A confirmation window will appear.
You may be asked to verify your phone number and enter a confirmation code to proceed with the deletion. This depends on the account setup. Follow the on-screen instructions to verify if prompted
Step 7. Tap Delete to confirm
You will immediately exit TikTok. Deactivated the account, your videos will not be able to be viewed by other users on the application.
