iTunes automatically notifies the release of each new version of the program, but you choose when to proceed with the download and subsequent installation. If you have previously declined the ability to update iTunes via automatic notification message, but have currently changed your mind, you need to perform the manual or online update procedure.

Method 1 of 3: Mac
Step 1. Launch iTunes
Use the program icon on the dock. Alternatively, access the "Finder" menu, choose "Go", select the "Applications" option (you can also use the hotkey combination ⇧ Shift + ⌘ Command + A), scroll through the list that appears until locate the iTunes icon, then double click on it.
Step 2. Check for new updates
Access the "iTunes" menu located on the menu bar of the program's graphical interface, then choose "Check for updates". iTunes will automatically check for new updates. In case of positive feedback, the program will ask you if you want to proceed with the download of the new version.
Step 3. Download the update
To update the program with the latest version available, press the Download iTunes button.

Step 1. Launch iTunes
Double click on the iTunes icon on the desktop. If there is no such icon, press the ⊞ Win key to access the "Start" screen or menu, then search using the itunes keyword. Click the program icon as soon as it appears in the results list.
Step 2. Check for updates
Access the "Help" ("?") Menu available on the menu bar, then choose "Check for Updates". iTunes will automatically check for new updates. In case of positive feedback, the program will ask you if you want to proceed with the download of the new version.
If the menu bar is not visible, press the key combination Ctrl + B
Step 3. Download the update
To update the program with the latest version available, press the Download iTunes button.
Method 3 of 3: Via the web
Step 1. Go to the official page of the Apple site where you can download iTunes

To proceed, press the blue "Download" button on the left side of the page. The website automatically selects the latest version of iTunes available, based on your operating system. - You can find out the version of iTunes currently in use on your system by accessing the "Help" ("?") Menu on the program's menu bar and then selecting "iTunes Information".
