There are many techniques to help you talk to a person you are interested in, but it can be quite difficult to get close to that person even before you talk to them. If you're worried about not being able to strike up a conversation with the guy you like without looking awkward and out of place, this article is for you.
Steps
Step 1. If he was reading a book or listening to a song you don't know, ask him questions about it
Tell him it sounds really interesting to you. Then, ask him for information about the author of the book or the artist / band playing the song. This should provide you with an excellent opportunity to start a conversation with him, especially if he were an avid fan of the author, the artist or the group in question. If he doesn't know that much, tell him that their style reminds you of another songwriter / singer / band.
Step 2. Walk around him when he is not in the company of his friends
If he's kind and outgoing, he'll probably say "hi" to you. If he doesn't, you try to tell him. You can also pretend you haven't greeted him because you like him, but only because you feel bored and have nothing better to do than have a chat and try to be nice.
Step 3. Ask him to help you with something
If you have problems with math and he is a genius in that subject, ask him to help you with your homework. If you are carrying something heavy, you can ask him to help you carry it. That way, you'll be able to strike up a conversation without feeling too embarrassed. Don't forget to thank him later.
Step 4. Bump into him "accidentally"
Say, "Oops, I'm sorry!" Don't just go on him, blush and disappear. After apologizing for going after him, say hello, tell him your name and ask for his. If you already know his name, but he's new to school or you're new to the school, tell him, "Hi, I'm _. Your name is _, right?" If this strategy doesn't work for you, comment on something witty that happened in the classroom, tell him some weird gossip that isn't true, complain about the amount of homework your teachers have given you, talk about the weather, like you were amazed to see the school project he presented in class or his prowess on the football field, etc.
Step 5. Compliment him and then ask him for advice on something

Step 6. Drop your pencil case to the floor and ask him (kindly) to pick it up or ask him to sharpen a pencil for you
Understand that this ploy will be hard enough to start a conversation with him (unless you try it before the class has started), but you could let him know that you are interested in him and that would be a great thing because probably he himself will want to deepen the subject!
Step 7. Play the part of “damsel in distress”
Just try not to overdo it. This is a good way to get him to approach you and possibly start a conversation without going off the rails. When you are near him, say, "I am very cold." He might take the opportunity to lend you his jacket. Walk behind him and wait for him to open the door for you; thing, which might leave room for a good conversation. Find a way for him to decide to help you without you having to ask him directly and use these little gestures as building blocks to cement the foundation of your relationship.
