This wikiHow teaches you how to log out of your Apple ID and iCloud using the settings menu on an iPhone or iPad.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using iOS 10.3 or Later
Step 1. Open the iPhone settings
The icon looks like a gray gear and is on the home screen.
Step 2. Tap your Apple ID at the top
At the top of the settings menu you will see your Apple ID and your picture. Tap it to view its menu.
Step 3. Scroll down and tap the Exit button
This item is in red and is at the bottom of the menu.
Step 4. Enter the password associated with your Apple ID
To log out of your Apple ID, you need to disable the "Find My iPhone" feature. If it is enabled, you will be prompted to enter the password associated with your Apple ID in a pop-up window to disable it.
Step 5. Tap Disable in the pop-up window
This will disable the "Find My iPhone" feature.
Step 6. Select the data you want to keep on the device
After logging out, you can keep a copy of your iCloud contacts and preferences associated with Safari. Activate the data you want to keep by sliding your finger on the relevant buttons, which will turn green.
If you decide to wipe this data from your device, it will still be available on iCloud. You can re-enter and synchronize the device at any time you want
Step 7. Tap Sign Out
This blue button is located at the top right. You will need to confirm your choice in a pop-up window.
Step 8. To confirm it, tap Exit in the pop-up window
This will log you out of your Apple ID on the device.
Method 2 of 2: Using iOS 10.2.1 or an Earlier Version
Step 1. Open the iPhone settings
The icon looks like a gray gear and is on the home screen.
Step 2. Scroll down and tap iCloud
This option is next to a blue bubble, more or less in the middle of the settings menu.
Step 3. Scroll down and tap Sign Out
It is written in red and is at the bottom of the iCloud menu. A pop-up window will appear at the bottom of the screen to confirm your choice.
Step 4. Tap Exit in the pop-up window to confirm
It is written in red. Another pop-up window will appear.
Step 5. Tap Delete from My iPhone / iPad
It is written in red. Logging out of your Apple ID deletes all iCloud notes from the device. Tapping this option will confirm your choice. Another pop-up window will appear.
The notes will still be available on iCloud. You can log in again and synchronize them at any time you want
Step 6. Decide if you want to keep the data associated with Safari
Safari tabs, bookmarks, and history are synced across all devices when you sign in with your Apple ID. You can decide to keep the synchronized data on the device or delete it.
Step 7. Enter the password associated with your Apple ID
To exit you will need to disable the "Find my iPhone" function. If it's enabled, you'll be prompted to type your Apple ID password to disable it.
