Planning a trip to Las Vegas can take a long time, but once you get there, you'll have a great time.
Steps
Step 1. Plan ahead
Try to get a basic idea of when you want to go and the hotel where you want to stay. Remember that it is more expensive and crowded on weekends.
Step 2. Think about the time of year you want to go
Las Vegas is even cheaper in the summer, usually because of the heat.
Step 3. Check travel sites and sign up for those sites that offer the ability to compare fares
As well as sites like Expedia, Travelocity, etc. Shermans' and Travelzoo will send you an email with the best deals of the week. Plus, check out some low-cost airlines too, like JetBlue and Southwest. Always use the flight + hotel option.
Step 4. Keep track of prices for about a week and then decide on the date and site you are going to use
You will notice that some sites are not as affordable as they actually claim.
Step 5. Watch out for flights
The packages with the lowest prices usually have flights that are not as comfortable for travelers.
Step 6. Buy a guidebook or borrow one from the library
Check out trade magazines that might mention things to do in Las Vegas.
Step 7. If you are driving to Las Vegas, bring some things to do
It could be a very long journey.
Advice
-
If you don't plan on staying there for a full week, you should try going mid-week. Hotels are much more expensive on weekends.
The Monorail is east of the Strip and runs behind the casinos
- Find coupons once you arrive in town. You can get discounts on food and various activities.
- Pay attention to the location of your hotel - the Las Vegas Strip may look small on the map, but in the summer heat the walk can get very challenging. A hotel in the center of the Strip is great for getting around the city and becomes perfect if the monorail is nearby.
- The more expensive hotel may not suit your needs as well as a less expensive one. For example, Planet Hollywood is great value for money, has great rooms, lights and bells. So why pay more to stay at the Paris?
